Publisher's summary

Only through blood can the deepest redemption be found....

He was born to ascend.

He was destined to lead.

He was never meant to fail.

Prophet Cain lies broken and defeated on the floor of his cell. A cell he has been thrown into by the one person who was supposed to stand by his side until the end. His flesh and blood, his only companion. His beloved twin brother.

Cain has sacrificed everything for his people. He left the safety and security of his life of study to infiltrate the infamous Hades Hangmen. He lived with them, rode with them, and then betrayed them. All in the name of a faith he can now feel slipping away from him. Like everything else he once held dear....

But then his isolation is broken. Another prisoner is brought to the cell next to his. A woman fighting her own demons and fears. A woman who Cain understands needs him, as he needs her. As the connection between them grows, so does Cain's resolve. He will right the wrongs he has done. He will atone for the evil acts carried out in his name. He will save the one he loves....

Even if the battle takes him to the gates of hell itself.

Contemporary dark romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, violence, sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language, and mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and up.

Wow! The great story continues!

This audiobook was so well written, but it's dark and gritty. You absolutely have to listen to the previous books in the series in order, or this book would just confuse you. Having listened to them all myself, I can readily say that they are worth every penny. This book was centered on Cain, the "prophet" of the religious cult in the previous books. He was hated in the storyline, but in this book we see him in a more humane light. His lost love has become engaged to his enemy and as the story progresses he realizes he didn't truly love her after he meets an innocent young woman who is in danger from the cult leaders. I was glued to this story and cannot wait for the next book in the series. The narration was perfection!

Realized Redemption with Book 4

At first, I was pretty skeptical with Rider/Cain being the male protagonist in this book after his portrayal in Book 1, but this is the best Hades Hangmen novel yet. Tillie Cole captured the essence Rider/Cain so well by taking his flawed and broken character and breathing into him complexity and, of course, redemption. I had hoped that in Book 4 both characterization and story would weave together more seamlessly, and I wasn't disappointed.

I've become a fan of J.F. Harding as a result of this series, and as in Book 1, he's great. Athena Pappas also does a fine job, and narration was on point for this book.

I recommend this book to fans of dark romance, the series, and those not easily perturbed by serious and graphic subject matter. Note: This is a series best understood and enjoyed by listening to each book in sequential order.

RIDER, FINDING HIS PATH TO REDEMPTION

Any additional comments?

Absolutely one of the best MC series. From the start, I liked Rider... even when he betrayed his MC brothers, because he was following his heart and his beliefs. I didn't AGREE with him, just understood it. He never did anything with the sole intent of causing pain, unlike his brother Judah.

This book finds Rider cut off from both worlds and forced to discover his true beliefs, apart from what was taught and expected. Over a month of torture and solitude he grasps first a hand and ultimately the heart of a woman placed in the cell next to him. They find life, love and freedom together.

I'm left feeling a bit angry with the Hangmen... their discriminate judgment between the women who came from the cult and the one man from the same doctrine. I'm anxiously awaiting book 5... Smiley is obviously cooking up some support for Rider and the club. Hurry, Tillie!

Amazing Series!!

I didn't think I wanted to read/listed to Ryder's story but I'm glad I did. Another emotional story by Tillie Cole. Can't wait to read/listen to more in this series. Also, the voices are awesome for this audio and the previous in this series.

Not for the faint of heart or survivors of sexual abuse

The story was written well and accomplished a poignant contrast between how women are treated and thought of in the extremes of a hard core MC and a religious cult. The storyline didn't seem to validate one lifestyle or the other but instead acknowledged the complexities of secular and non-secular groups and the people who chose them. In the end, the more palatable HEA was granted at a terrible cost which is unfortunately supported by real, historical tragedies. The women, in the end, were again revealed as indomitable and soul stirring heroines.

Wow, invest in a soft box of kleenex

I swear I wasn't suffering from any kind of depression, when I listened to this novel. But holy heck, I cried so much, while listening to this. There were just so many heartbreaking events. I mean, absolutly heart crushing events. This book, in the series, has a lot more angst then any of the others. However, this whole series has topics that are very upsetting and anyone with triggers from rape, violence and child abuse should skip this series.
Not only did I cry constantly but I got really angry towards several of the characters that were previously my favorites. I know that sounds ridiculous but the writing pull you into the story and it's almost impossible not to develop a sort of relationship with the characters. It was well written and well worth the cost of a credit.

Series keeps getting better and better

This has to be one of my favorite series of all time. I get so entranced in the books, I just can't stop listening. This one featured Ryder and Harmony. I have been looking forward to Ryder's story since book one and could not wait to get into it. Picking up where book 3 left off, Ryder is in a cell, which is where he meets Harmony, a cursed woman of Eve. What happens throughout this book is hot, sexy, horrifying, tragic, unbelievable and so incredibly captivating that the earbuds just would not come out. Each scene held a twist, a turn, an emotion that made you cringe, smile and cry.

The narrators of this book, JF Harding and Athena Pappas are magic together. I cannot wait until book 5.
