Deathless review

A fantastic, worthwhile and interesting story with compelling, likable characters. Not a single, boring moment throughout.

Good creepy story

I hadn’t read book 1 so was nervous I’d be lost. Not so. It was explained enough as a back story to catch me up. Don’t befriend a killer. They will have a following. I enjoyed listening to this book. Kept me coming back.

Shocking continuation of Pressure

When Pressure ended, I thought I'd seen the last of these characters, but I was wrong! Seems there were still a few old grudges to work out. Equally as thrilling as Pressure, if a bit more far-fetched. Still a very worthy conclusion to the story.

Worthy sequel to a dark horror tale

Ive been a big Jeff Strand fan the last few years. Ive listened to or read all of his adult books, some of them multiple times. All of his adult books except Pressure and Deathless. Im not sure exactly what kept me from finishing pressure. Im a hugh horror fan and I dont mind consuming uncomfortable things, however for some reason I couldnt get myself to finish pressure.

After listening to both Pressure and Deathless I think I have it figured out. I see Jeff Strand as doing horror comedy, and this series of books is just horror. The main charachter reminds me a bit of Andrew Mayhem, except without the funny ha ha moments. It threw me off and kept me from consuming these last two books by the author.

Had I not had the opportunity to listen to the audiobool for free, for an honest review I may still have had Pressure on my To Read list.

Deathless is a worthy follow up to pressure. A little less serious, and somehow a little more dark. Well written as all his books are. An enjoyable read all in all. Definitly a must read for someone loooing for a unique horror tale to consume.

The Sequel I've Been Waiting For

This book is the sequel to Pressure and it does not disappoint! If you haven't read anything by Strand then this is a warning : This book is Brutal. I do have a few questions about some things that were not covered, but maybe this will be a trilogy! Solid 5 stars. My reviews for Strand's work will always be 5 stars though because, well, favoritism 😅 He could write about pencil sharpening and I'd give him 5 stars.

The first book pressure was fantastic and this out does it in every way
Darker and even more insane. This was a thrilling listen.
Scott does an excellent job narrating this one as well

Enter the cult of Rust

If you haven't read Pressure you really should as it gives a ton of backstory about Alex and Darren and the other pivotal characters.

Deathless picks up somewhere after Pressure let off. Darren is in jail, hopefully forever, and Alex is trying to pick up the pieces of his life. Seeking human company, Alex ends up in a bar where he meets a fascinating woman and they have a one night stand that turns into more. Luna is smart and charming and seems to be exactly what Alex needs. That is until things take a turn.

If anything, this sequel is better than the first book, which is something that doesn't happen very often. This book was spectacular. The action was non-stop, and just when you thought things couldn't get any worse for Alex it did. I can't say more because I don't want to give anything away but after reading Pressure, Deathless, and Dweller I can happily add Jeff Strand to my list of favorite authors. I look forward to reading my way through his extensive catalog.

Great Follow up!

Dang, I had a feeling this sequel would be good, and I was absolutely right! My 3rd Jeff Strand book, and I'm not stopping! A fun conclusion to the first book, fast paced, and great narrator!

A good sequel

I enjoyed the previous book and this one continued the story well. Jeff Strand is almost always fun to read, with lots of humor to go along with the horror. He writes like people actually talk and that's refreshing. There's no pretense just good story.

A frightfully, horrifically, blood letting of a good time!

Alex lost everything when his former bestie turned out to be a raging psychopath. Finally on the mend and anxious to make a fresh start, he meets and falls hard for the lovely Luna Booth. She may not be his “forever”, but as his “just right for now” she’s pretty much perfect, or would be if she wasn’t hiding a dangerous secret. Dark, twisted and frighteningly horrifying, “Deathless” is edge of your seat, thrill ride entertainment horror at it’s ABSOLUTE BEST! The speed button was whispering press me, you know you want to do it, go ahead, break the tension! But I resisted! And I am so glad I did. This is a horror fest to be enjoyed and savored! The writing is brilliant! The characters run the full spectrum from “sweet and innocent” to “oh my heaven, just dig a pit and toss them in RIGHT NOW!” All are fully developed, and like them or not, I felt as if I knew every single one! The scene setting is clear, beautifully written, fabulously narrated and flows smoothly, serving not only keep the story moving at a perfect pace, but also keeping the listener up to speed on all the relevant plot details. The dialogue, THIS dialogue, rings so true! It’s written with the perfect amount of tension breaking humorous snark, and narrated with absolutely PERFECT voicing choices, and PERFECT comedic timing! This combination makes this story as delightfully entertaining as it is horrifying, as oxymoronically as that might sound! But believe me, it works beautifully and makes this an engagingly entertaining listen that will grab you from the opening words and will not let you go until the beautifully satisfying conclusion! I’m not going into detail for fear of playing spoiler. I don’t want to ruin the many surprises for anyone! Just listen and you’ll see exactly what I mean. Five stunning stars. I loved it! Oh, and if you’re listening dear author and narrator, I want more of your delightfully winning combination!
