So happy to have discovered this writing team!
This is Book 4 of the Charles and Kate mystery series and probably my favorite so far. The authors have created such vivid characters along with wonderful world building, totally drawing us in with their descriptions of the balloon launch and auto race. I love their portrayal of the FMC as an independent, adventurous yet sensible woman in a time period where women were severely restricted in thought and activity and the scientific, open-minded husband who loves her. Highly recommend this series!

Another great one
I’m so glad the rest of this series is getting added to Audible. I read the books over 10 years ago & listen to the first 3 when they came out. I love the historical references added to the plots. Helen Johns does a fabulous job. Keep them coming!

Not My Favorite of the Series
Motor cars, balloons, competitions, corruption.
These subjects don’t interest me now or in the past. Thus, this is not my favorite book of the series. I respect the author for all the research she must have put into the writing .
