Publisher's Summary

The end is here. For centuries, the governments of the world have kept the half-elf Morgana locked in a prison where she couldn't use her magic. Now, her fanatical followers are on the verge of setting her free.

Meanwhile, the best hope of defeating her is trapped in an inter-dimensional library unaware of the chaos engulfing the Alliance.

Can Conryu escape the enchanted library in time to save the world and the people he cares about?

Win or lose, nothing will be the same.

Strong Start, Great Series, Simplistic Ending.

The narrator did a great job reading and spoke very clearly.
I liked the ending for this series.
It stayed focused on what happened to the main character. Expanding the story or ending to learn about characters like Morgana or Kai before and after the events of this story would have been interesting. But that would have spread the focus of the story too wide. It would be great to see a sequel like the elves somehow returning, with the focus on those characters.

Action and more.

Action and more a lot more. Yes there is skulduggery from the Lafaye Society and the Alliance too.
My only criticism is that this really should have been a dual narration. Hempel while good, there were times when it was difficult to tell which characters were speaking.
Yes I now have the entire series and Wisher has proven to be a very good fantasy and alternate universe story teller.

This whole series is just your token Gary Stu.

It's terrible. The whole series. Strongest wizard ever, super cool guy, no faults, learns everything instantly, doesn't have anything holding him back from learning the strongest spells unlike every other wizard in existence. Need I go on?

The narration is fine.

Everything else is junk.

The setting is current times with current tech, plus magic. The caveat is that only women can be wizards.
UnTiL nOw! Yawn. This was the first red flag. Then the whole series turned into a red flag.

Since it's current times, you'd think the dialogue would be natural. It's not. The whole cast speaks prim and proper instead of using common parlance. "Shall we go?" "I shall do what I must." etc. It's ridiculous. The entire dialogue is canned and formal.

Everything is cliche. Nothing is original. Here's the plot for each book: Boy is stronger than anyone. Something happens. Boy gets better with barely any hurdle. Boy overcomes something. Boy monologues his victory. Rinse and repeat, over and over, down to the last sentence of the series.

With all this cliched poppycock around, you ask, perhaps it's full of humor to make up for it?

No. I chuckled one time in seven books. It's meant to be serious. But, like, serious for 5th graders. Except the target audience is adults. Confused? Yes. It's a completely naive series.

Don't waste your time, you already know this story; and it isn't a good one.

best fantasy story in a long time.

this is possibly one of the best fantasy stories I've read/ listened to , in a long time it's up there with Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Dresden and even Harry Potter. the way magic is explained is truly fascinating. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes magic and fantasy.
