Publisher's summary

He thinks she’s an elderly widow. She’s convinced he’s a grumpy old man. Neither could be further from the truth.

After a short and difficult marriage, recently widowed Edith Sherman has learned her lesson. Forget love. Forget marriage. She plans to fill her thirties with adventure. As she awaits the final paperwork for a humanitarian trip to South Africa, she accepts a short-term nursing position in a small Midwestern town. The last thing she needs is a handsome local catching her eye. How inconvenient is that?

Henry Hobbes isn’t exactly thrilled to have Edith, who he assumes is an elderly widow, dumped on him as a houseguest for the summer. But he’d do almost anything for his niece, who is practically like a sister to him given how close they are in age. Especially since Edith will be working nights and Henry works most days. When he and Edith keep missing each other in person, they begin exchanging notes―short messages at first, then longer letters, sharing increasingly personal parts of their lives.

By the time Henry realizes his mistake―that Edith is actually the brown-eyed beauty he keeps bumping into around town―their hearts are so intertwined he hopes they never unravel. But with her departure date rapidly approaching, and Henry’s roots firmly planted at home, Edith must ultimately decide if the adventure of her dreams is the one right in front of her.

Reminiscent of the beloved classic You’ve Got Mail comes a delightful new romantic comedy about mistaken identities, second chances, and finding love in unexpected places.

A fun a funny romantic read!

I loved the main characters. Actually, I loved all the characters in this story. I was in need of a clean, feel-good romCOM to make me laugh, and I heard from a friend that this one was hilarious. It did not disappoint! I laughed out loud through the book. Becca Kinzer writes amazing comedy scenes and can’t-keep-from-smiling callbacks. I loved that there was no giant fight scene, as I really wanted something lighthearted. Perfect read for a sweet and silly escape.

Dear Henry, Love Edith

This is my second book by this author and I loved it, too. Such a fun book, had me smiling and laughing from the first pages. All of the characters were quite memorable and a delight. Part of the premise of this book is misunderstandings and erroneous conclusions throughout. The narrator was outstanding. At the time I listened to this, the book was on audible plus. The ending was extra sweet. Nice faith content. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a light, heartwarming read.

Cute love story

Light-hearted love story too predictable, but still entertaining. Funny goofs and misunderstandings kept it interesting.

A series of fortunate? Misunderstandings

Hilarious yet deep. Silly yet poignant. You’ll love spending time with Becca Kinzer’s Henry and Edith. Not to mention the rest of the townsfolk. The narrator does a good job. Each character is unique without being annoying. Don’t miss this lovely debut, but be sure to clear out your schedule because you won’t want to put it down!

Set in IL this read is fun and funny.

When I finished listening I felt like I had been to a great movie that made me laugh and cry. Misunderstandings turn into hilarious events which bring people together for awesome results. The author’s writing style was great for easy flow of situations involving the two main characters. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Wonderful funny characters plus unique story

There is so much humor and fun in this, but also a depth unusual to most romances. I love that it’s clear and uplifting. I love that they find a way for both of them to explore their dreams yet still find each other. Narration wasn’t my favorite but I’m not taking off stars because the book is just so good!
