Disappointing

I think that the story would have been better if there were a different narrator. All I could hear was children playing in the background, outside noise and the turning off and on. Hard to enjoy when those things are going on. I would like to finish the book but I’ve lost interest, the speaker makes all voices the same. I love shifter romance but I’m disappointed.

Mysticism!

This mystifying Dark Secrets 8 book bundle tells a great story and kept me all night and yet, I didn’t really mind. Alice Jamison is one great writer that I’m eager to purchase her other audio books. It is through this book that the author has proven herself that she masters the secrets in attracting her readers and keeping their attention.

Worth the credit!

I have to admit, I love this book in print, but I haven't liked the other audiobooks I've tried. I heard that this series was being released on audiobook, so I thought, okay, try again. I was *very* pleasantly surprised. I liked it now!

Great Story/ Terrible Narrator

I wish these books had a different narrator, it would be so much better. Very slow and sounds like she's standing in a tunnel.

Narration was not pleasing

The narrator was one of the worst I have ever heard. I do not ever do this. But this person was bland, unanimated, and boring. Yiu can clearly hear children playing and babies crying in the background. She pauses for long periods of time and takes audible deep breaths. The British accent for Charles wasn't even attempted. Actio. Or suspense scenes sounded like a lecture on a boring high-school subject... however I really enjoyed the story line and the book itself.

Shifter fail

The performance was so dreadful. I listened to 3 books, and tried to give it a chance. Lord have mercy, she even makes sex, love, & murder boring.
Story wasn’t as bad, but I think an 60+ year old wrote it. Would recommend this book, to an 80 yr old person. Sorry. I never give bad reviews. I am sad, cause I paid a credit for it!

Horrible narration!

I would rather get a root canal then listen to Shawna Crawly again. The inflection in her voice never changes. She doesn’t even attempt to do a British accent even though Charles is English and his accent is mentioned. I couldn’t finish the book, the narration was driving me crazy.

Good story horrible monotoned

The reader has no emotion into reading the story. It all sounds bland when it comes to the character narrations.

Nice story.

Kinda hard to handle the "Southern accent" everyone shared even the British had a thick southern accent. Misspoken words and repeats were also difficult at times.

Monotone narration spoils the story

I think I would like to read this book but the narration was awful. It was completely monotone which I found irritating to the point I could no longer listen. Disappointed.

disappointing

loved the story , at times a bit rushed and predictable but it was entertaining. absolutely hated the narrator! it was out of sheer determination that I persevere with the whole thing .she was painful to listen to , the monótono voice , the lack of emotion and often mistakes when reading made it impossible to really enjoy it. what a shame because the actual story line was good .
