Publisher's Summary

Riveting new series offers legal suspense with a romantic twist.

In the biggest case of her career, attorney Kate Sullivan is tapped as lead counsel to take on Mason Pharmaceutical because of a corporate cover-up related to its newest drug. After a whistleblower dies, Kate knows the stakes are much higher than her other lawsuits.

Former Army Ranger turned private investigator Landon James is still haunted by mistakes made while serving overseas. Trying to forget the past, he is hired by Kate to look into the whistleblower's allegation and soon suspects that the company may be engaging in a dangerous game for profit. He also soon finds himself falling for this passionate and earnest young lawyer.

Determined not to make the same mistakes, he's intent on keeping Kate safe, but as the case deepens, it appears someone is willing to risk everything - even murder - to keep the case from going to trial.

Stunning story

Thank you for the lovely book, it was a fantastic story and was awesome that didn’t reject Jesus. I really wish I could find more books written by born again believers. Thank you Rachel, I’ve pre-ordered your next book

Blah...

The narrator sounds way too old, rather fitting for protagonists in their sixties. In addition, the way she tries to distinguish between characters and narrative, is by keeping pauses of seconds right in the middle of the happening, that I found annoying.
In addition, I wish there were a note about how uber religious this book was. Knowing that, I wouldn't have touched it, and the constant sanctimonious preaching almost made me drop it several times. I was in for a good legal thriller, not the gospel. The thriller story was okay, but because of the rest, I will make sure to avoid this author as the plague.
The heroine was so sanctimonious, passive - agressive and humourless, that I hated her by the end, and almost vied for the bad guy to succeed

Would have been a great 6 hour book....

T h e. n a r r a t I o n w a s s o SLOW! I tried speeding up but the too high pitched. That with the random stops for bible study makes this a one and done for me. Too bad because I like smart girl lawyer stirrups.

Narrator will put you to sleep.

The story was slow, little romance, little intrigue, and little suspense. the narrator is so slow, she lulled me to sleep a few times.

Entertaining

Great story but it was pretty easy to figure out whodunnit. I did love all the legal elements of the story. It was interesting reading about all that a trial actually entails.

good story

While I did think the story was good, I felt that the narration could have been better. The voices of the different characters were basically all the same. I would still recommend this book as I do not think the narration reflects the work of the author.

It was good.

This was a good story, but I was turned off by the excessive legal explanations. The time table seemed to jump all over, and sometimes I couldn't tell that the scene had changed.

Good legal thriller

I really enjoyed this legal thriller. Enough twists in it that kept me guessing until the end.

Deadly Proof

Another example of being prepared to listen to an author that you haven't listened to before.

A great book I could imagine reading in book form as well.

Now onto the next book!!
