Publisher's Summary

Airport Ranger volunteer Stacy Broussard expected a peaceful Saturday morning ride around the perimeter of Houston's airport. What she encounters instead is a brutal homicide and a baffling mystery. Next to the body is an injured dog, the dead man's motorcycle, and a drone armed with a laser capable of taking down a 747.

Though FBI Special Agent Alex LeBlanc sees a clear-cut case of terrorism, his past has taught him to be suspicious of everyone, even witnesses. Even bleeding-heart veterinarians like Stacy. But when her gruesome discovery is only the first in a string of incidences that throw her life into a tailspin, Alex begins to wonder if Stacy was targeted. As a health emergency endangers Stacy's community, and the task force pulls in leads from all directions, Alex and Stacy must work together to prevent another deadly encounter.

Deadly Encounter

Mrs. Mills does extensive research for her books and it shows, I truly appreciate it. As always this was an engaging and intriguing novel. The story of Stacey, Alex and Whit was heartwarming. The suspense was masterful. The narrator gave an excellent performance, this added another rich dimension to this superior book. As always I'm looking forward to more by DiAnn Mills.

Good with just a few issues

The plot was interesting and the characters were engaging for the most part. The biggest issue I had was with Whit. I liked Whit's character, but the author really needed to adjust his age. 12 was just too implausible for his character and the plot really didn't necessitate that he be that young.

Other then that one problem, the book was a great listen.

suspense, mystery, and love

Loved the suspense, story of true love, and Christian beliefs! I was hooked from the beginning to the end and had trouble turning it off to go to sleep.

very religious

strong religious overtones which I wouldn't mind if I was forewarned. However there was nothing to indicate when I pick the book up that it was going to get progressively more religious as I read. Going as far as to say that terminal dogs should not be euthanized, but instead left in the care of a vet for months on painkillers until they naturally withered away.

Very Dramtic

Overall I enjoyed the book and the characters, as well as storyline. I just wish it wasn’t so Christians and God. I am a Christian but it seemed a little excessive and pushing beliefs on others.

Outstanding narration

I'm impressed with the way the narrator can do 10 different male voices in Chapter 49

Hard to follow.

I struggled to get through this audio book. The narrator was hard to listen to, and not great with character voice changes. The plot was confusing and hard to follow through the middle and the characters were not well formed. The wrapup was fine but it was hard to get through.
