Publisher's summary

Distillery owner Abigail Logan discovers that high spirits are no match for a cold-blooded killer as the Whisky Business Mystery series puts a fatal twist on stiff competition.

It’s been a year since globe-trotting photojournalist Abi Logan inherited Abbey Glen, a whisky distillery in the heart of the Scottish countryside. To her surprise, the village of Balfour already feels like home, and her new business partner, Grant MacEwan, continues to be too charming to resist. But Abi has a history of relationship disasters, so she struggles to avoid an ill-fated romance with Grant.

Steering clear is hard enough on a day-to-day basis, but when the two head off to a whisky industry competition together, Abi panics. Five-star resort, four glorious days of nonstop whisky tasting, and a fatally attractive Scotsman - what could possibly go wrong?

The night before the award presentations, with foreign and domestic whisky makers at one another's throats, two judges are found dead under mysterious circumstances. What started with three dream-come-true nominations for Abby Glen’s whisky soon turns into a nightmare for Abi.

With a killer on the loose, she must call on her investigative skills to stop another murder - before she gets taken out of the running herself.

Best Yet!

This installment has been the best yet in the series. I felt the plot was more complex, and the characters more developed. It was very enjoyable.

A great story

This was the first in the series where I was sure I had figured out who the murder was and I was waiting expectantly to see if I was right, it made everything even more suspenseful. I greatly enjoyed this story and can't wait to read the next one.

Feel like I’m watching “Friends”

I suppose the writer wants to get emotion out of its readers. This one has. I feel like I’m watching a few seasons of Friends, with Ross & Rachael. I’ve never gotten angry at a book before, and felt let down.
The storyline besides that is good. I have just never liked soap operas.

5/5---I WANT MORE

I would have given this book a 10/10 if I could have---EXCELLENT

The storyline--setting---characters--action--narration--are to addicting to listen to or read.

MORE PLEASE

Whisky to Taste, Killers to Chase

The third in the series brings Abi Logan and Grant MacEwan from Abbey Glen Distillery to a fancy resort in Scotland and a renowned Whisky Competition. With both foreign and domestic whisky vying for attention, the four-day event features tastings and social events, and plenty of opportunities to booze and schmooze the judges. Some of the attendees are quite vocal about their beliefs that Scottish whisky is superior, while not turning down the gift of the foreign bottles left in their rooms. Abi’s faithful dog, Liam is at her side at the events, and I got a good many chuckles out of her whisky loving pup. When the first judge is found dead in his room, DI Michaelson enlists Abi’s help in photographing the scene. (She is a former award winning photo journalist.) And the hunt is on for a killer. I had no clue as to who the murderer was. As in the first two in this series, this one was entertaining, and interesting. I’m ready for the next one!

Disappointing

I hope Grant falls in love with someone else. Abby sucks - she didn't even visit him in hospital. Uggh! Vain. She is going to die alone.
