Publisher's Summary

After a dramatic end to the Justin Wilson case, psychic Tennyson Grimm heads to a small island off the coast of Maine, hoping to clear his mind and renew his spirit. When the dead won’t let Tennyson rest, the psychic curses his gift and orders the spirits to leave him. He wakes the next morning to silence and finds truth in the saying, "be careful what you wish for.”

Detective Ronan O’Mara has been tasked by his boss with the chore of finding a more "sedate" cold case to investigate this time around. The handsome cop is only too happy to oblige. He chooses the 20-year-old case of a family patriarch who was murdered on Christmas night, 1997. The only possible suspects are either his wife or his daughter, who were both with him at the time of his death. Ronan figures this one will be a piece of cake. All he has to do is get his favorite medium to talk to the deceased man's spirit.

When Tennyson reveals the truth about what happened in Maine, he’s forced to take a hard look at who he thought he was and what his gift really means. Ronan does his best to help his lover cope with his new normal while he uses good old-fashioned police work to figure out a family who put the "dis" in dysfunction.

Will Tennyson be able to find the key to unlock his gift, or will the spirits stay dead silent?

Amazing story continuation, brilliant narration

This was another spectacular book in the series. At the end of the last book, Tennyson needs to get away after dealing with the serial killer. He feels like he is losing it, and can’t get a minute to himself due to all of the spirits around. He screams at them to leave him alone, and his gift goes away. This was a great book because it really caused Tennyson and Ronan to support each other. There is a minor cold case to solve, but it is much more challenging without Tenn’s gift. Fabulous, and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Again, Michael Pauley was tremendous. I love his voice and interpretation of the characters. I can’t read these books. I need Michael reading them to me forevermore.

This book is phenomenal! The whole series is.

I loved the twist in this book and how the case behind the story was much lighter than the previous two. It gives us a small reprieve and we get a chance to focus on Ronan and Ten's relationship much more, but with out loosing the detective aspects of the book as well. Ronan was amazing though out the whole book and seeing them finally have time to develop who they are as a couple is really nice. While less action packed that the previous this book is by no means lacking, and might be one of my favourites now!

An emotional mystery

This is my favorite Cold Case!

Tennyson and Ronan are at it again, trying to figure out who killed Harold Owens a twenty-year-old cold case. Ronan thought this case would be easy to solve once Ten was back, but a devastating twist is thrown in and now the two men are trying to solve two mysteries.

I felt sadness for Tennyson and his emotional brake down after seeing the therapist, but it was Ronan my heart broke for and I wish I could have just hugged him.

"Ronan's words played over and over again in his mind, his voice had sounded devastated, the look in his eyes was pure heartbreak, and Ten had done those things to him."

The emotions are so high in this story and once again Michael Pauley does an amazing job in making me feel all that the two men go through.

I'd recommend this book in a heartbeat.

Spectacular Addition to Wonderful Series

I love this series! Each installment just gets better and better. Ten and Ronan are back but there's lot of tension because Ten wished his gift away and can't seem to get it back. This really frustrates Ten which causes tension with Ronan. But Ronan is amazing, very loving and understanding while standing by his man. They have another case to solve but I really love that this story has a lot of the growth and progress of Ten's and Ronan's relationship. And the ending was absolutely spectacular, had me tearing up!! The narrator is AMAZING. He really gets all of the moods, nuances, and feelings of the characters and the story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great!

Loving this paranormal series by Pandora Pine, narrated by one of my favorite narrators, Michael Pauley! I have read several of the print versions of this series but MP brings it to life in a whole new way! The main characters are intriguing and Michael gives them a new voice...Pandora Pine is an excellent author and MP makes her books shine.

Continuing a fantastic series, perfect narration

Another fabulous book in the Cold Case Psychic series.
Tennyson went away to decompress after the last case he worked with Ronan. However, after a near breakdown and shouting he wished he never had his gift, he goes back to Salem with no psychic powers, wondering about his business, his assistance to the BPD and his relationship with Ronan.
Ronan is doing ok. Together they work on getting Tennyson his gift back with the help of all of their friends. They are both working old school on the case that Ronan picks out that turns out to be anything but simple with no gift. It's back to old-school detective work. Their relationship is obviously put to the test with all of what's going on and losing his gift is a massive loss for Tennyson as it's basically who he is, taking over most of his waking hours giving spirits the chance to converse with the living and being put to rest.
I love how much of the friends/family we get to see and how well they all pull together to support one of their own when in need. Ronan feels close enough to the others to speak to them without Ten around and they both adore holding onto Carson and Truman's babies..... :-)
My only slight irk was how often Dead Silent was used throughout the book, as though trying to make a point using the title but I got it after the first time whereas it was used another 3 or 4. But that's just me lol.
I would definitely recommend this to people who have read the previous books, giving us a chance to get closer to our MC's. To those who haven't it would be a good idea to start at book 1 as references are made throughout to previous story points.
As the narration, there's only so many ways and times that you can say someone is a perfect fit, the best for the job. Michael Pauley has quickly become one of my favourite narrators. His voice carries you along on the story with ease and it's simple to fall in and experience everything along with the characters. He gives perfect inflection, emotion and each character is easy to tell apart.
Read and listen to this book and series! Cannot recommend it enough.

LOVE THIS SERIES!

This series just keeps on getting better. I loved Dead Silent, book 3 in the Cold Case Psychic Series.

I just loved Tennyson and Ronan and how they continue to grow in their relationship. There is such depth to both these characters. Pandora has a gift for creating stories you get lost in. I was happy to be lost in Dead Silent.

Michael Pauley does an amazing job of bringing Ten and Ronan to life. His voice adds so much to the experience of listening to Dead Silent.

I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Another great continuation in this series.

Another great continuation in this series. We see Tennyson dealing with the spirits being closed off to him that happened in the previous book. Ronan wants to do anything that will support Ten and he really has to be strong in this situation.

I have never seen Ten lash out as much as he did in this book but it helps show that he is human and not all understanding. I continue to look forward to more of these stories.

Michael Pauley did a great job narrating the story as usual. I easily kept track of the story and his voices for the characters worked well.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

A Great Continuation Of A Series

This is the third book in The Cold Case Psychic Series. A thought-provoking book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters captivating. The characters were developed and thought out. Detective Ronan O Mara and Psychic Tennyson Grimm are the MC s of this book. There was humor, police, spirits, friends, a dysfunctional family, tests, trials, kids, night terrors and so much more in this book. The narration was done well. He had different voices for each character. He wasn t monotone, and the flow of his narration was good. He made the book enjoyable to listen too. I can highly recommend this as a good read and listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Can they solve a cold case without Ten’s gift?

Like the other books in this series I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the adventures of Ten and Ronan as they’re investigating cold cases using Ten’s gift only there’s a problem...Ten no longer has use of his gift.

There’s lots of challenges for both MCs in this book...the least of which is how to solve the cold case using normal police methods, without the added extra of Ten’s gifts. I loved that this story focused so much on their relationship and the trials and tribulations and how they were trying to adjust to Ten’s new “normal”.

Great listen!

Love the series!

Third in a really good series :)
This story focuses a little more on the developing relationship between Tenn and Ronan. Tenn has (temporarily) lost his ability to speak to the dead, causing a strain on him and his relationship with Ronan, (who has another case to solve). While they use their normal skills to solve the case, Ronan is trying to be more understanding and supportive. Really good story.
My only pet peeve is the author recounts the events of the previous books. It's probably great for those who've skipped the first books, but why *would* anyone skip them?
As always, Michael Pauley makes this a great series to listen to. He is an excellent choice for bringing this series to life. As other reviewers have said, he brings the emotion, heat and personality for each character, no matter how major or minor the part.
Excellent way to enjoy the series!

Another great story

This is another really good story in the series. I didn't feel it was quite as exciting overall and the 'mystery' element wasn't as strong as the previous two books. The focus of this story was more on the relationship between Ronin and Tenn, and Tenn's relationship with his psychic gift. I have warmed more and more to Ronin over the last 2 books and I absolutely LOVED him in this one. Even when Tenn is being a real idiot, Ronin supports him. There's a really pleasing character growth - for both characters by the end of the book - which I enjoyed. The narration was just as good as the previous two books and the consistency of the voices makes this series such a great listen. Highly recommended as part of the series - but you really need to listen to or read the first two books to fully enjoy this one.

More paranormal fabulousness

Just like visiting old friends with the added benefit of Michael Pauley’s interpretation of all the character voices. Every book in the series is full of paranormal activity, this one particularly hard on Ten and Ronan. It’s an enthralling story and a lovely ending. With so much more to look forward to.

Silence is not always golden

Silence isn't always golden, after what happened at the end of their last case, Ten needs some time away so he goes to Maine. Where after getting no peace from the local spirits he throws up a mental block and loses his gift and the ability to speak to the dead, throwing his whole life into turmoil. Ronan is missing Ten like crazy and the Captain wants him to solve a boring case with no bullets! So the case he chooses is the 20year old murder of a man in Christmas night.
This book is slightly lighter then the previous two even so our duo go through a lot together and their relationship grows in strength and they be come closer realising that they work better together.
Michael Pauley does another great job, this is another good book in the series.

Falling back on real police work

Absolutely incredible! I loved this story. What a crisis of conscience for Ten when his gift doesn't come back. He loses his connection with his deceased friends, fears his living friends will desert him, and even lashes out at Ronin in his pain and confusion. It was sad but sweet as Ten struggled to find his way back and Ronin stead-fastly supported him. At the same time, Ronin and Ten resort to old-fashioned police work to solve a 20 year old murder. Even without bullets and blood, this story keeps a steady pace of drama, emotion, and love. The ending is absolutely the best, and so very sweet.

Michael Pauley does an excellent job voicing the characters. They are all distinguishable and unique, and the emotions are heart-felt and realistic.

Interesting twists in psychic land

This is the third book in the Cold Case Psychic series. It picks up where the second book left off and the 'silence' is really interesting. The case is just ok, but this book is more about the people than the procedures. I wanted to slap Ten most of the time, but thankfully Ronan didn't agree with me. The developing stories of the other characters were really interesting and I can't wait to see what happens with Kevin.
Michael Pauley continues to be the 5 gold star narrator he always is, I just adore his work.
Looking forward to book 4.

O.M.G another great one!!!

These stories just keep getting better!! Another cold case needing to be solved, but this time there's a problem; Ten has lost his gift!! This story follows the challenge they all face, in trying to get Ten's gift back and I loved how Pandora explored Ten and Ronan as a real couple (without 'magic'), having fights, facing challenges and just loving each other in spite of all that, even though that can be hard sometimes!

This story was a turning point for Ten and Ronan and their relationship is stronger for having endured all that befalls them. Some hints at certain futures are spoken (I'm so excited), all your favorite characters are here and the ending will make your heart swell. I love Ten and Ronan and can't wait for more!!!

Thanks for reading!
