Another Homerun!!

A great addition to a terrific series. The narrator pronounced a few names differently than normal, but finally getting Kat's tale makes it bearable.

Story decent, narration could have been better

Not a bad back story, first half was better. Narration needed work, female characters sounded a lot better than the male counterparts, if you change your primary narrator at least keep the pronunciation the same.

Finally , Katrina’s history.

Thank you Mr Conroe for this latest edition to the Demon Accords., With Darkkin Knight you have enriched Katrina’s character. You have given her a rich back story and filled in all those holes that left us saying, “Hmmmmm!” Can’t wait for the next one.

FINALLY!

I've been reading/ listening to this series for 10 years. over the last three main books, I had started to despair for the writing. THIS book reminded me why I love this series. Katrina had always been interesting to me, and she gets her own storyline.
The performance was great, though listening to someone else do voices I had grown used to was jarring at first.
Overall: enjoy the ride, I sure as hell did!

Awesome Series!

Loved the new story by John Conroe. I will definitely read (not listen) multiple times. The only downside was that the narrator did not do her homework and pronounced several of the names incorrectly.

Fit's with the series, but...

I enjoyed this book, aside from the "mansplaining", etc terminology. I think it'd be best if that sort of mentality were left out of books, but that's just my opinion. That and I don't know any men that just say or think things like "she is just a woman, what does she know" or have that sort of mentality. Please learn from Disney's failings and leave the woke-type stuff out of your books. PLEASE!

Outside of that mess, I enjoyed Katrina's perspective and thoughts on things. Learning who she trained with was a shock and pleasant surprise.

Now for the narration. I'm not sure if narration is really in her wheelhouse of skills. Her male voices are pretty awful, as well as her pronunciations of many words and names.

The narrator was terrible

The main character of this one is female, so I understand why they would try a female narrator, but this was not well read. I enjoyed the story as I always do, but it was seriously hard to listen to. The narrator’s speed was incredibly irritating. I had to set it to 1.25 speed just to make it tolerable. She read every single sentence like the character or the audience was supposed to be absolutely astonished. She has also clearly never listened to any of the previous demon accord audiobooks, which ok, may not be regular practice for narrators, but after 18 books, her mispronunciation of names and terrible accents were painful to listen to. I sincerely wish they had used to usual narrator.

A good story if you like Katrina

Not quite up to the standards of the other books in the series. The story is pretty good but the production is lacking. The names are not pronounced consistent with the rest of the series and other words are not pronounced correctly. It is not the worst sin but it is kind of jarring and pulls me out of the performance. The range of voices is also not as good as other readers.
