Publisher's Summary

Some secrets need to be kept.

For six long years Shazeera Crowley has lived a secret life. Not because she wanted to, but as a condition of her parole from the penal planet Perseys. It was all going well and good until her blog got hacked, and her tenuous hold on freedom is slipping through her fingers.

Supreme Commander Jordanerus fis Lorden is aware he has a parolee from Perseys on his space station, but he never had a clue it was Shazeera. Granted, he hadn't spent any real time with the confectioner nor did he desire the Sands of Lazarus 7 to mate them. What he wanted was a quiet life in the farthest reaches of known space.

Jordanerus will pull out all the stops to protect her even from the powerful forces of InterGal.

A not-hot mess of a short

This plays like a mash-up of storyboard concepts into a clunky outline of a book. It’s a bunch of contrived plots to justify insta-lust and get to the two, explicit but not very sexy, quickies. F-bombs clash with ditzy phrases like “holy fart of a frigging disaster.” The tone is also all over the place. The narration is breathy regency, or dainty anime…but the title Dark Spaces concerns the literal dark afterlife necessary for satisfying nooky. What?! Contrary to the title, cover art, or some of the concepts, this is not a “dark” story; this is more along the lines of campy space romance.

She’s an author of a fantasy sex blog, Sexy Space Station, starring the Commander of the space station she lives on. Guess what happens when said Commander walks into her shop? Yeah, got it in one.
He’s an alien warrior who lets empathic sand tell him who to mate with. He takes her by their second meeting without explanation. And the good reason for not taking five minutes to explain a forced life-mating is…? Yeah, there is no good reason.

📍For a fair mashup novella of sci-fi cheese and alpha male romance, I recommend Viking’s Fury.
📍For a pretty good novella with hawt alpha alien nooky and a better story with a kick@ss gal, try Deadlocked.
📍If you want to avoid the awkweird, and want a full length book with delicious alpha alien warriors, try the first few books in the Dark Planet Warriors series (books 1-4 can be had for 1 credit in the omnibus).
