Publisher's Summary

Abbey

Some scary-looking aliens have just boarded Fortuna Tau, our little asteroid mining station. Kordolians, by the looks of things. What the hell do they want with this floating rust bucket? What are they even doing here?

Come to think of it, I've never seen a Kordolian up close before. They're huge and intimidating, with strange silver skin and pointed ears. They have freaky nano-armor, and they're packing a serious arsenal. We humans stand no chance against them.

When I encounter their general, I find him insufferable. Arrogant. Domineering. He won't tell me anything. I guess that's what happens when your race is kicking ass across the Nine Galaxies. You get pigheaded.

So why do I keep running into him? Why does he keep looking at me like that? And what's with this weird feeling I get when he's around? I really hope these guys fix their ship and go away soon, because I get the feeling they could be major trouble.

Tarak

Sucked into a wormhole during a fierce skirmish with an enemy ship. Spat out near a human mining station in a remote corner of the Nine Galaxies. Stuck with weak humans who operate with inferior metals and technology.

This mission couldn't get any worse.

We need to fix our craft, kill the cursed Xargek, and get out of here before the wormhole collapses. I don't really care about these humans. Their existence makes no sense to me.

So why has this strange human female captured my attention? She's messy, awkward, and she babbles nonsense half the time.

These humans are crazy. I don't understand them at all, especially this female. Why do I keep coming back to her?

I need to leave this place before I go insane.

Contains mature themes.

So excited that there are already 8 books in the series

I found this gem just before Book 3 was released on Audible- very excited that there are 7 more books at least possible! Book 1 was a refreshing take on space romance, and the author does an amazing job at creating the “landscapes” with words. Narrators were different- but not distracting. I seriously loved the sections read by Todd McLaren.

More please, Audible Gods!!

Excellent Story

I've read all 8 books plus the short one (4.5) in one weekend because I couldn't get enough. Now I can hardly wait for the rest of the series to come out in audible. The way the author has created the setting for the book and the characters is amazing. If you like G.A Aiken and Laurann Dohner you won't be disappointed in this series.

Story was great, male narrator not so much

I really loved the story overall. The male narrator was slightly annoying in my opinion.

Read the entire series in a weekend

I read in the entire series in one weekend and I loved it! Loved the premise and loved the stories but I was not impressed with the narrators... They did and okay job but the pacing felt off to me. I hope they pick it up a better and continue the series!

Not what I was expecting.

This was an enjoyable first book, I look forward to more from this series. Abbey and Tarak’s story did not follow what I had anticipated by the book’s summary. I thought it would all take place on the mining station, but most of it took place on an alien planet. Admittedly the story was not without flaws. There were a few holes in the sci-fi aspect of it, but since this is more romance than sci-fi I did not complain. I look forward to Kykal and Arin’s book. Narrators are good, Todd Mclaren was good but maybe not the perfect choice for the role

Have only read the series so far but OMG!!!!

I cannot get over this series! Its been a long time since I found an author that I love, that does paranormal or sci-fi romance correctly with action, suspense, AND BELIEVABLE ROMANCE + STEAMY AND HOT SCENES!!!! *Fanning myself* Tarak and Abbey are the biggest delight to read about. Ugh! I am flying high on this series! My husband is even jealous because I am so into this series, I have no time for him.

Please do not hesitate to read this entire series! It hooked me in from the beginning! (even though I started with the author's newest book Taming Chaos), I immediately went back and began reading this series. I am on book 3 right now, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! It is one of those lose sleep type of series. I am actually sad I am on book 3 already in just one week because it means that I will likely be finished with the series by next week "BOO HOO..." I am already sad about it, but at least there is the audio version for me to appreciate. I plan to use all 7 of my remaining credits to buy the books in this series. AHHHHH!!!! THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!! If you are on the fence, don't be!!! I gave the performance five stars already even though I haven't "listed" to any of the books because no narrator can fail to deliver on such a good story. I also plan to go back and read all of Anna Carven's books, she's that good!

Enjoy! and your welcome!!!

Dark Planet Warriors

Jillian Macie, Todd McLaren are quite a team during the reading of this story. They bring the story to life as well as the characters. Todd is the General of the Kordolian fleet. His deep voice sends chills down the back and brings the heart rate up. Jillian as Abbey brings a humanity to the General as well as the lighter side of him. The two together play well together and makes the story alive and heart stopping.
Fantastic story telling!

Performance Issue

Found the performance annoying. If you are going to have a male and female performer I would have them do their respective parts (i.e. female reads female parts), and then have one person do the narrating parts.

***The Mighty Kordolians***

I alternated between reading and listening to this book and i am sorry to say but i have preferred reading due to the narrators, they are absolutely wrong for the characters. The female narrator well just didn't do it for me and i found myself bored out of my mind. no character what so ever she doest sound nothing like Abbey i imagined wud sound like. The male narrator sounds like always in a command mode even while making love. * sighs* but the story itself apart from lacking humour its great with dark decadence.
