Jaxon Montgomery is a woman hunted. Trained by the Special Forces, honed by a traumatic childhood, she is a policewoman with an undisputed reputation. She meets her match when she is set up to be murdered by an enemy. Hunted on all sides, she can only turn to the mysterious stranger who seems more dangerous than any other she has ever known.

Disappointed

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. The narration wasn't very good. Lucian's name was mispronounced repeatedly.

What didn’t you like about Patrick Lawlor’s performance?

The way he pronounced Lucian's name

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Different narrator.

Great story, annoying voice

The narrator needs to learn to pronounce Lucian and Gregori and his nasal voice is grating. I listened because of my appreciation of the story, but it was not without effort.

narrator

Love the story but the narrator killed it for me. Would love to hear story read by someone else.

another good book

mis-pronouncation of names and words is very disturbing. it takes something from the story. I think the readers should get together and learn how to say the names and differed words.

NARRATOR CONTINUALLY BUTCHERS MAIN CHARACTERS NAME

This is the 2nd story in this series (which I love) that is narrated by a narrator who legitimately cannot pronounce the main character’s name...last book I hoped it to be a fluke.....this story, which focuses on Lucian (the name he can’t pronounce)...it is not only distracting, but COME ON....is there no one, who in the process of producing this audiobook, could’ve told this guy how to say a name he’d have to repeat about 475 times over the course of 12 hours????? I mean really!!! The story is good (Lucian is one of my favorite Carpathians), but the narration kills it. It’s really frustrating. It might seem like a small thing to make a big deal about, but if you listen to as many audiobooks as I do - and enjoy Christine Feehan’s work as I do - you might agree with my feelings on this. The narrator is also not a good fit for depicting such a strong lead as Lucian is...I could never imagine Lucian sounding the way the narrator speaks. It took something from it for me, in spite of loving the story & the series.

poor performance

The story is great. The original narrator was great but this narrator "SUCKS". The voice is like nails on a chalk board.

Great story but

Great story however the narrator killed this book. it was a struggle to get through. There was no power, emotion, or connection to the characters because the narrator was that bad!!!

New Narrator?

I love the Dark series. I actually have all the books in the series. I also have tried the audible books. But......... the narrator of this book made it very hard to listen to. There was not much difference in the female and male voices. The tonal quality was just not right for this story line.

Ho hum

This should have been a magnificent book. I mean, come on! It's Julian!! Although it was okay...it should have been exquisite. I'm sadly disappointed that the plot was basically the same as many of the others.

Different narrator

I love this author. So hard to listen to this narrator. Should have passed this one up and stuck to the actual book.

wish it was a different narrator

I don't find the voice masculine enough to portray a carpathian male.

He says Lucian with a chi sound. Theres no Ch sound. It irritates me every time, and he's a main character!
