Such a good story. Stunningly told and so well written. I'm sad it is over.

It was just ok . It was missing the spark and the romance. I was confused most of the book 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wanted to enjoy it but...

This audiobook is difficult to review, so I'll grade it on a few points:

Writing: The writing is amateurish. It's what I call 'Fanfic writing'. The sentence structure is constant which makes it repetitive and boring. it's 1st person present tense which includes so many 'I's that I wanted to scream at one point. And the flow of the story was so sloooooooowwwwww. Which had to do with the repetitive sentence structure because there was a lot going on in the story itself. There is a tremendous amount of telling instead of showing. The sentence "I feel a shiver slide up my spine" does not have the same impact as "A shiver slides up my spine".

Concept: Fantastic. I loved the concept of the story. MC matched with the original cupid and that's entirely against the rules.

Mythos: It felt like the author got the story to a certain point, ran out of ideas, and started plugging it with different mythical creatures for no real reason. The reason given at the end was not strong enough to support the characters. (Though I did like the minotaur.)

Romance: I completely don't get why she and Cupid fell for one another. There was no true romance arc that helped me see that. I spent most of the book thinking "Cal needs his own match' so the ending was a bit of a surprise.

For my ratings:

The performer wasn't bad. She wasn't great, in my opinion, but she kept the story flowing along and was able to do a half-decent job at character voices.

I couldn't give the story more than 2 stars...

So 3 stars for performance, 2 for story. Leaving 3 overall. Because it wasn't a rotten tale. I just had to keep forcing myself to listen to finish it.

With the concept being so good, I'm hoping the author continues to study her craft and strives to make each book better than the one before it.

This was amazing beyond words

I read this book when it first started out on Wattpad and I was so excited when I heard it was coming on audible and now it’s just so amazing and you just have to get it and read it it’s not a disappointment at all!!!!
