A Sassy Captain We've All Been Waiting For

This book is great for fans of Aurora Rising and Once & Future in YA sci fi. A smart ass space captain, her mysterious but dedicated engineer and a fantastic cast of queer characters that are not defined by their queerness- but it is just a fact of their life. I enjoyed the nonlinear timeline and the use of flashbacks to provide context at the perfect time kept the world building understandable, despite how intricate and vast it was. The pictures Coffindaffer created are beautiful and I cannot wait to see where the sequel takes Alyssa, Hell Monkey and the rest.
