Not the only psychos in town....

Falling for the ghosts of murdered gangsters who were your imaginary friends once upon a time? I'll admit it's a little unusual. But they're back and totally real, and it's hard to argue with their admittedly obsessive level of devotion.

Unfortunately, their violent dedication isn't enough to bring down the powerful man who hurt my little sister. I have to take matters into my own hands. I just wish I had a better grip on this marshy magic I've discovered in myself.

If that wasn't enough to deal with, the guys are stirring up trouble both in their search for their long-ago murderers and the pasts of the hosts they've taken over. Trouble that's arrived with guns blazing. And I've still got that gaping blank in my memory.

My past holds more secrets than I know. They just might shatter every hope I have of a happily ever after.

Criminal Spirits is the second book in a new darkly humorous paranormal romance series by best-selling author Eva Chase. If you love sarcastic heroines with unexpected powers, obsessive supernatural men who'll do anything to defend their woman, and plenty of mystery and mayhem, dive right in!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

okay so I loved the first book, but the second book is even better. The main female figures out more about herself and gets closer to her guys. I highly recommend listening to this series! Joe and Hollie did an amazing job narrating this book!

What would you do for your sister?

I love this new series where Lily is learning more about her men, her powers, and the secrets that had her locked away for so many years. A thousand stars wouldn’t be enough.

I love our heroine and getting to know more of her and the guys. It's an addicting story with addicting heroes.

I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I'm also thankful that there's more books in this series.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.

Excellent narrators!

That ending though!!!

This book does an impressive job of showing even more growth for the characters and the storyline continues to increase in suspense and twists. That is just a part of why I love this author and the people that she uses to perform her stories. The ending killed me because it was a cliffhanger I never saw coming!

Love this series

This is such a great series from Eva Chase. I don't find myself liking a lot of books lately because I listen to so many books that my tastes have changed with finding out what I liked most. The fact that this is one of the series I find myself invested in says a lot. The main character is fun and stands up for herself and the people she loves. The men are all very much on her side and have that kind of unhinged vibe when it comes to people hurting their woman, which I like, after the overload on bully and enemies to lovers books that have been flooding romanceland.
Throw in Joe Arden and Hollie Jackson bringing the story as if it was a movie in my head and I am just here for the entire ride! Love this so much!!!

So much intrigue! Keeps you guessing 😉

Book 2 of the Gang of Ghouls series definitely keeps us on our toes, thinking we finally have things figure out/things are in a good place and bam! Not really haha. So I enjoyed the relationship building in this part of the series, finally seeing Lily allow herself to feel and let people in, and then one of the guys saying screw it and going for it (duuuude that scene in the office was 🔥🔥🔥). I am waiting for the last guy to really finally let go, hopefully in book 3! I enjoyed seeing the guys get more comfortable in their new bodies and discover their extra powers was really cool/fun. Loved their ideas for helping Lily relax!

I like that there are 2 competing plots going on...the issue with Lily and what happened all those years ago and trying to find answers and then the mission of the guys to find out who killed them and get revenge. I was kinda losing the plot a little with Lily's but I think it came together well at the end with the realization Lily has. The guys' plotline was good and tangible, waiting to see how they deal with this stuff and not having anyone get killed since they keep having close calls. Overall, some of the side plots I felt were a little unnecessary (like with one of the guys parents) but we will see if that comes back in the other books. Like I can see why bringing up a couple times the people's lives the guys inhabited, especially because one of them was a plant/mole.

I had a hunch for awhile about Marisol, but it wasn't any easier to listen to the end of the book, feeling how confused and devastate Lily was. Hopefully she can help her sister like she did herself before anything bad happens. 4-4.5 stars from me for the story. It had a good mix of steam, action, and humor.

In terms of the narration, I would give them a solid 4 stars. I like Hollie but she is OTT sometimes and with Lily I thought it was obvious too much and it took me out of the story a couple times. I thought Joe did a good job with his parts, which we could have had more from him. I thought they both did a good job with the side characters, especially those at the office setting. Helped immersed me into the world well.

Good story

Great addition to the series. I love the interactions between the characters and the storyline has enough questions that need answers and action to keep you interested.

hope you like frogs

Book two really picks up the pace, and some questions are answered. The guys are sorta settling into their new"bodies" while looking for answers, and Lily is just trying to stay under the radar and reconnect with her sister. Of course things never are that simple are they.
I read and listened to this book, and I am enjoying it so much.

Good Story… Annoying Narration!!

I still liked the story and the characters. The story continued where it left off and gave a few answers to the questions I had. The female narration however was well awful in my opinion. The pitch in her voice was at times very hard to listen to. I just don’t find her voice appealing at all. The male narration was good. I liked the tone of his voice but it was hard to know who was talking at times. The story and the author is the only reason I’m sticking with the audio of this series. This will be the last book I listen to narrated by this female narrator. Good series though!

The more she knows the more she doesn't know

Lily and her ghoulish guys are still together. Now that she has been fired from her job at the grocery store, Lily needs to find another job so she can pay her bills. She also needs a new place to live where she can have her sister live with her. Finding out that Thrivewell Enterprises has an entry-level opening in the mail room, gives Lily the chance to not only have a paycheck but to do some spying on Nolan Gauntt. Kai does some hocus pocus that makes her into a enticing candidate and then gets himself hired on also so he can assist her. Lily is also trying to the out how her newly discovered powers work.

Meanwhile, Nox, Ruin, Jett, and Kai are still trying to find out who killed them and dumped their bodies in the marsh. They work their way through several penny-ante gangs before hitting what looks like paydirt. Apparently, someone told the Skeleton Corps gang that Nox's gang was out to get them causing them to go after Nox and his guys first. The Skullbreakers, that's Nox and company, get themselves a new clubhouse but they can't seem to get the Skeleton Corps to come out into the open. When they do get their attention, it is the wrong kind. Someone vandalizes Lily's new apartment before she even gets a chance to move in. What can go wrong next? Don't even ask.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
