The book of Genesis says that “in the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth”, and that the whole world was created in six days. On the sixth day God created Adam and Eve, who were instructed to “be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it”. The belief that the first people were created by God in his image is the reason why some creationists dispute an account of human history based on evolution.
