Publisher's summary

There are two types of secrets in life: the ones we choose to hide from others and those we choose to hide from ourselves.

Secrets reveal themselves eventually. Hearts heal, but sometimes, they're forced to break... again.

Beau

I was sick and tired of the pressure my family put on me. It's what happens when your older brother is a self-made billionaire.

And the whole falling in love thing… screw it. Been there, done that. So, I took a trip to figure out my life.

Until she walked into the bar, and I spent the whole weekend forgetting my life back home before she existed…

April

My life is a mess. Correction: my mother and her whole fake marriage was a mess. I was desperate to leave it all behind. So, I left the country and pretended I was someone else.

Like the night I entered the bar and called myself Olivia—at least, to the hot guy at the bar. Then we had that weekend, the best weekend of my life.

When Monday came, I fled. Months later, he's standing inside the kitchen of my stepfather's home.

It turns out we shared the same best friend. The same girl both of us had been running from…

Afterthought

This book seems like a total afterthought, like the author didn’t plan for it at all. The back and forth seems only to have been added postscript to make the story different than that of Lex’s and Charlotte’s. The way book two ended and this started were night and day and the writing for both relationships, in regards to their connection with Alexa, are rather superficial. The author started to gliding a little deeper with Alexa and Hunter at the end of the book with the observations of Hunter with Elijah, but everything else fell flat…including her connection with Beau. If you’re looking for more than skin deep connections, I’d say skip this entire series. They are unnecessarily long without any real deep reflections or connections established in the writing. The writing, though not bad, is pretty surface level.
