Publisher's summary

Brooks Hoffman, billionaire, loves women, expensive toys, and fighting - in that order. A week romancing a beautiful woman on his private island near Cozumel is a great way to pass the time. When Sydnee Lee Swenson isn’t impressed with his money, or charmed by his...well, charm, Brooks takes it as a personal challenge to change her mind.

Sydnee Lee moved to a small island to volunteer at the local orphanage. She’s fallen in love with the children and doesn’t need a good-looking, over-confident guy complicating things. Sending Brooks on his way, with just the right amount of sass, was her only option. But when Brooks puts his own life on the line for Sydnee and some of the orphaned children, she may have to take another look at the guy behind the muscles and money.

Not her best but still a great story

I am a huge fan of this author. Although this is a great story, it was not her best. As in all of Cami Checketts's stories, there is romance, controversy, action, and suspense.
A woman who graduated from the university goes to Mexico to help run an orphanage supported by a wealthy benefactor which becomes problematic for the young woman.
Also added to the mix is the topic of child trafficking.
The Narrator, Jakobi Diem, did a great job with emphasis. However, his voice which was supposed to be smooth and sexy did not “ make the cut “. His efforts at accents were futile. His “voices” would work fabulously in a rough crime story. He easily depicted “toughness “ and even tenderness.
However, what's not to love with billionaires, tropical islands, romance, danger intrigue, and exciting adventures?

Sweet, Simple, Soft

I'm in love with the sexy, sultry voice of the narrator, which is what led me to this book. The story is cute, and simple, but it tugs at your heart. Simply Loved it.

Real whitebread

This was just a little too cheesy for me. I guess if you like PG or PG 13 romance, this might be a better read for you. The author is a good writer, just not my taste.

Too controlling

I liked the setting of the book and the fact that the story was intertwined with the characters from book 1, but I wasn't a fan of the leading man. He was far too controlling and arrogant for my taste. I also don't like how the leading lady seems to question herself all the time after setting up boundaries that were very reasonable. That being said, the book was a bit cheesy but cute nonetheless. The narrator also did an excellent job! It's so nice to her a book read by a blk man! well done!

hidden Christian romance again

Cozumel is a cliché conservative Christian romance. The heroine is so steeped in puritanical southern Baptist culture that the mere touch of a man o. her arm sent her repressed need for touch crazy. The hero manipulates and coerces her blunty and then wonders why she reacts negatively. Then, she tries to use her meager psychological skills to bully him to change. She reacts constantly to him with the worst thinking, yet we are supposed to believe she is Mother Teresa to her orphans. Of course, the only intimate touching was above the neck. I waded through to the end to see how it ends; 4 hrs of my life wasted.
The narrator was quite good with voices and feelings, but the speed was too slow.
