Publisher's summary

Do you take me seriously? Because I don't. I use my jokes and easygoing personality to hide the pain I've felt since he took his last breath. I'm adrift without my partner in crime, my best friend...my brother. I can taste the vengeance that's just within my grasp. Until she barges into my life. Promising me happiness and a peace I've been craving for years, she is the sun to my darkness, the happy to my despair. But she holds secrets. Just like I do. She holds hers close, where I just pray mine don't rock the walls we're trying to build.

Now I'm stuck at a crossroads between my desire for revenge and my craving for her and the life we could have together--and I have no idea which road I should travel.

Contains mature themes.

Sloan Managed to Include Every Victim Group

😕 This is a perfect book for every type of 'victim' – seemingly each character is the victim of some sort of circumstance. Asher and his brother, 'Coop' are the victims of child abuse and neglect. Chelsea is a victim of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her parents. Isabelle is the victim of domestic violence. Chelsea introduced Isabelle to her 1st husband (the abuser) and feels guilty, even though Isabelle is in a great relationship, now. Give me a character and I'll tell you how they are victims.

I almost shut it off after 2 hours because the story did not Nice book ruined by 'teenage' banter. Dee – from book 3 – asks the main character, Chelsea (who is very pregnant) if having sex/penetration actually hurts the baby, for example. These women are twentysomethings! There were many instances of the example given.

I have been listening to these books in order. My opinion is that the characters are immature (see above) in some cases and insecure in most. Choose a couple of these books to listen to… If you like them, continue. I bought the whole set at once and feel I made a mistake in doing that. The books are very similar.

Strong language, violence and sexual situations.

Heartbreaker

For the longest time it never clicked for me why would they name a book after a person that wasn't going to make it until I read the whole storyline then I was like "oooooh the story is about his brother not him directly.

Awesome and heartbreaking

This is a romantic, erotic with action.

I have been waiting to find out if Chelsea and Cooper would finally get to tell their story, but I wish there was more.

Chelsea knew what she was getting into when she had a one night stand with Coop, no string attached. But she got more than she bargained for, as time passes she tries harder to keep her secret but it becomes harder when the secret has a brother named Asher and he has taken her breathe away. She knows he's the one, but will he accept her and her secret, unconditionally and completely?

Asher and his brother, Coop did not grown up with a typical mother, from the time they were born they were both raised to believe they were worthless. As they grow so does their confidence and their brotherly bond. But in order have a happily ever after, he has to let go of the past and with the loss of his brother, Chelsea is going to have to do some quick thinking to save him.

I loved this book, since I cried my eyes out in Beck. Everything comes together in full circle.

Life!!!

Most memorable moment when Claire has her baby where cooper lost his life and now his son is being born right there too. It brought goosebumps to my skin but it was great.

This ending....

I've enjoyed every one of these books, but this one has made a lasting impression all because of the ending. So moving!
