Sometimes life just isn't fair. Growing up as a child both Emmy and Locke have never had a positive role model and were constantly fought the neglect in their families. Now both adults Emmy and Locke are drawn to one another, neither feeling worthy of love, especially Locke. Locke tries to keep others at arm's length so he feels he can't ruin them.

Emmy is attracted to Locke's survival throughout life, and she makes him want things he doesn't think he deserves. When her family attempts to destroy her again, Locke steps up to protect her and she wants to reciprocate the same thing with his family.

Great series

Absolutely loved the whole series! I couldn't help but binge the whole series in less than a week.

A perfect ending to this series

This is not the 1st time I've read/listened to this book and every single time it's a tough read emotionally. There are triggers that can make it difficult, but for me it's the cruelty of Locke and Emmy's past. Don't let that keep you from consuming this book though because the ending is PERFECTION!

I don't want these stories to end!!!

I loved everything about this book. The characters were amazing. I felt their pain. Their laughter. Their joy. Harper you are such an incredible writer. Thank you for writing this series.
