this was a long drawn-out story but it was good. overall really really really really really really really enjoyed the story

original plot, amazing writing - buy it!

what a fabulous novel, i hope to see more from this author. the plot is so original, you do not know where the tale will take you as it twists and winds along. its is also an exploration of child psychpoathy. the performance was perfection itself and suited this story to a t. well done!!!

A book so good that you don’t want to know the plot

It’s rare you find anything that’s way better if you don’t even know what it’s about. I went in only knowing it by the genre. Thank god. Wow that was a crazy story

Phenomenal!!! Great writing, the best ending of all endings. I enjoyed this book so much. You need to pick this book up or listen it. I insist you listen it’s better.

A unique story that stays with you

I loved the overall story, and the unique structure of the various parts of the book. The male characters, stories and narrators are far less impressive than the females', but that's ok. It's definitely a worthwhile book, with great discussions on parenthood, revenge, and society. I highly recommend.

Engaging narration

I found the first person narratives articulated by different characters a bit dry, for the most part. Not because of the performances, but because of the stories themselves. I was not invested in any character in particular and found all them dislikable. The conclusion was satisfying, but there was no real twist at any point. I enjoyed it enough to complete the book, but it was not the most captivating experience.

Good story; bizarre direction

I wish the director had any idea how to say Japanese names. The story and performances were great, but the absolutely bizarre intonation they used on just about every Japanese name took me out of it just a little bit.

I was also really impressed with how well the movie adapted this, but that's neither here nor there.
