Publisher's Summary

Ariel

I would like to say we were old lovers. That once upon a time he was my everything, and I was his, but that would be a lie. He may have been mine, but I wasn’t his. I was his sister’s annoying little friend who he didn’t even know was in love with him.

Years later, after seeing him again for the first time, nothing has changed. Except now, he notices me, and I will do everything in my power to avoid him. Because Falcon is the most conceited man on this planet, and because when he looks at me with steel eyes, my heart still misses a beat.

Falcon

I get what I want, and I’m never denied anything either. It’s my charm. It’s hard to say no to something you never knew you desired until I’m standing in front of you. That’s not just who I am, it’s what I do. I help men achieve everything they have ever wanted.

Most people would go to great lengths to be near me. Yet, my sweet Ariel, I can’t even get her to stay in the same room as me. Maybe it’s because I told her I would be the best lay of her life - that has to be it - and once I’m finished with her, she’s avoiding being disappointed by every other man for the rest of her life.

It couldn’t possibly be anything else, because let’s face it, I’m perfect.

All audiobooks in the series can be listened to as stand-alone stories.

Wrong names??

They called Storm from book 2 Selina. Which Selina was the ex girlfriend not the current one. If someone was to read these out of order they’d be so confused. Poor poor editing. Also i went to the kindle version to make sure it wasn’t the narrator but it’s in the book copy too. 😩

Huh?

I’m pretty sure they screwed up Echo’s girlfriend’s name halfway through and referenced Selena instead of Storm. 🤷‍♀️

Male narrator’s female voice was terrible. It was hard to take seriously and made the female character sound like she was speaking after sucking helium. It made this kind of painful to listen too.

This was definitely my least favorite of the three so far. Better narration on the male part might have made the “threat” more believable. I think this narrator would be good for more of a sweet romance story.

Poor editing

Can't believe this was the same author. Several names from the previous book were wrong. Was there any continuity checking at all. Totally ruined this one.

Was there no editing done in this series?

There were so many mistakes I can’t list them all but I will say, words were used wrong,
Names and relationship titles were mixed up repeatedly and phrases were used wrong. Drove me nuts. Good book but it needs to be reworked.

Male narrator

The male narrator is horrible. And his female characters narration is just sooo bad. Did not finish. Ava is another narrator who I can barely tolerate most times.

ALEXANDER CENDESE IS A TERRIBLE NARRATOR!

Alexander Cendese is the worst narrator! OMG..I was so upset. So hard to get through. His narration is so annoying. It's not natural...doesn't flow at all. He's trying too hard and is way too over dramatic. I can't...Ughhhh
At least this time it's only 1 book. Had to get through 3 books in the Steel brothers saga series. THE WORST!

the ending makes no sense

Alexander Cendese is terrible when it comes to female voices. The ending makes no sense, she leaves him after Tom is killed and she is kidnapped, but she comes back and oh well people die. lame

young stupid love, touch of drama

The start was great, but then the crazy voice of the Falcon doing the female voice and vice versa was super irritating, the author needs to stop that, and stupid girl reactions over nothing. I'm a woman, as a young girl I never jump to the worst thought at everything my love said, like Raven does, author got lazy, towards ending could have been better. Yes some women over think things, but once in love most girls are blind as bats and listen to their love. Hey author call me I help, B better. enjoyed half, reading want book to be worth credit or money spent not irritated.

Not interesting enough to finish

I just couldn't make myself care enough. The whole premise of the storyline and even the series is becoming too implausible. You kill a A-list actor to keep the secret sex club a secret. Yea, not buying it. With all of the members and all of the people that work there, more than 1 person has talked. It can't really remain that secret. And other than the actual names of the members who cares anyway!! Its not the 1st brothel ever.

And this couple!! Could they be anymore shallow?!! He is the epitome of conceited (hence the title) but I was hoping he would be given some depth of character at some point. Nope. Just self-centered because he can be. And his lack of respect for women is so not in keeping w/his relationship w/his mother & sister that it makes no sense. Characters have to have a reason for developing the personalities that they have. IRL we may not know but in my stories I need to know these reasons. The female lead is just as juvenile as she was w/her initial crush at 16yo. The decade long vendetta that she has for him is just dumb, mad b/c a grown man wouldn't take advantage of a drunk teen. Too dumb for words. And when they do finally get together she flies off b/c of an off-hand comment. You can't use your words and you're supposed to be a writer.

I tried several times to finish but I just didn't care enough. They eventually get together and live HEA. I'm good.

Good

The book was a good next in series. Ava Erickson very easy to listen to . However please don’t let Alexander Cendese ever read another female character again . He was great as Falcon and the other guys but the female all sounded really breathy and girly or like a screaming shrew . Also has to slow the speed of readying as he was so fast . There was a mix up in Character name at one point too . Onto the next .

Wow! Love it, a story about Falcon...

So, finally we get to Falcon, the most conceited of the boys, the one we all want to know more about, the one who is about to surprise us all, surprise himself! This series is brilliant, it is both dark and light. full of complex relationships and packs a serious punch (literally and figuratively). I am very much enjoying it.

A few errors, but the story was good.

Chapter 11, Selena was mentioned in a relationship with Echo, even though her name is Storm. Selena was the ex. Also, Tracey's partner was referred to as her girlfriend, when in the previous book, she was her wife. She was called her wife a couple of times in this one, but mainly her girlfriend.

Anyway, onto the story.
Falcon changed practically overnight.
What he said at the beach wasn't cleared up.
He said he'd let them kill her, yet that was never mentioned again and seemed to be completely forgotten about, especially when she said, "You'd never let anyone hurt me."
Ariel wanted the scoop on the private sex club, but when she sees it for her own eyes, she's fine with it? Her desire to expose them basically disappeared.
I liked this, I really did, but some things, as you can see, were overlooked. Maybe it was keeping the book short that details were left out, but it just made for frustration for the rushed outcome.

The narrators were great, but maybe Alexander shouldn't narrate women's voices. They didn't sound sincere or authentic. His regular voice, though. Ooooooof!!!!!!
Ava did a fantastic job as Ariel and Falcon, although I sometimes couldn't tell which character she was when going between female characters.

Author doesn’t know her own character names 😬

I couldn’t believe it during one of the scenes of the book when the author accidentally calls Storm Selina which is Echos ex 🤦🏼‍♀️
Other than that the story line is good! I just lost faith a little, how has it got to the point of doing an audiobook and they’ve still not realised the error.

Very Enjoyable

I liked all the books in this series, it is the second time I am listening to the series. While listening I have realized that the male narrator in Chapter 11 refers to Echo's partner as the wrong name. other that than I very much enjoy this the whole series.

Strong male character but a weak female lead, they didn’t really mesh for me

Out of the series so far this book left me wanting a bit more, the female lead just didn’t feel right for such a strong male character.
There was also a few mistakes with character names in one chapter so if you had only read this book you would be totally confused as to who they are.

self inflicted victim.... god damn reporter/ ego

Knew the reporter story line would suck.

90 mins to go, but struggle to want to finish....

either she holds to her morals/ ego... and leaves him ... but how they can make them ok and a couple seems so so unrealistic...
