Publisher's summary

Common Pleas: A Tale of Whoa! is a legal thriller dripping in humor set in rural North Carolina in the mid-1980s. If John Grisham, Harper Lee, and Larry the Cable Guy were penned for a weekend in a cabin with nothing but a typewriter and an ample supply of bourbon, wine, and Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, something like this might result. Listen as the Good, the Bad, and the Butt Ugly collide in this riotous journey to a rural North Carolina courtroom ending in a verdict of local justice.

Veteran trial attorney Bob Lee Pender battles his courtroom adversary, the facts, and even his own client down the winding road of a rowdy, fast-paced, suspenseful high-profile murder trial made possible by the collective contributions of a sordid and colorful cast only a local courthouse could produce. Join in this intense and informative tale of the mechanics and realities of courtroom justice, whether Southern or elsewhere - a tale of "Whoa!"

WHOA!

COMMON PLEAS A TALE OF WHOA! BY J RANDOLPH CRESENZO is not your typical legal thriller. Set in North Carolina in the 1980's the story is a totally crazy telling of a murder, corruption, drugs, and the local bad guy. In the case of Common Pleas is would say bad guys. We have the sheriff who has a fish fry fundraiser that the money goes into his "retirement" account offshore.Said sheriff is the protectection for the local leader of crime just to name a few. The book centers on the trial of one such nefarious guy and the red white and blue attorney who gets the pro bono job of defending the sleazy character.

When I fist started listening to COMMON PLEAS, I thought to myself "This is not my kind of book. " I finished the whole book in one day! Dont judge the book by the first chapter, keep listening is my advice on this one. Its well worth the listen.

The narration by Steve Connor did a lot to keep the book interesting. His interpretation of all the characters in the book is spot on!

I recieved this audiobook free in exchange for an honest review.

Long, But Worth It

This book is well written and I really enjoyed it. I also thought that Steve Connor did a wonderful job narrating. It was just the perfect combo of good story writing, great characters, and talented narrating that makes this book great. The reason I said the story was long is because my personal preference for audiobooks is under 10 hours, but like I said it is worth it. I received this audiobook for free in a promotion and I am giving my voluntary unbiased review.
