Publisher's summary

An army of bots is roaming the space station - hijacked by a terrorist inside BlumBot International. The bots share a hive mind that learns and adapts, making them the most deadly adversaries Jonah has ever faced.

Jonah and Maggie are prepared to fight alongside the Space Force, but how can they defeat an army that never eats, never sleeps, and never grows tired? To protect the colony, they must join forces with Tripp Van de Graaf - the cocky young executive with dimples for days.

Tripp makes no effort to hide his attraction toward Maggie, and Jonah hates him instantly. But Tripp’s company holds the key to defeating the bots: their human creator Ziva Blum.

When Maggie, Tripp, and Jonah learn that more humanoids are hibernating on Earth, they must race to stop a madman bent on destruction and save the world from a robot apocalypse.

Second installment

Second book in the series and follows the first well. This series is more like television episodes than books in a series. There is the same running about and action as the first episode, and delivers to the same standard.

I received this book for free in exchange for a review.

Cacophany of Fictitious yet realistic Power Player

Tarah continues to weave eerily familiar power interactions between major corporate leaders, maniacal billionaires and other equally power hungry and distasteful players. Though a future fantasy story, the author's research section at the end of each book in the series brings realism and connection to our current world.

Maybe it was my abject frustration at the detailed spoilers I accidentally read in the Editorial descriptions while trying to locate Book 2. I cannot unread that information LOL. These spoilers have left me feeling cold and flat. Really recommend steering clear of them

I would have liked more light and shade in the stories and characters - everything was very dark and serious with none of the balance, humor and breaks in the intensity that Book 1 in the series has, And Jonah is one of those impaired individuals who has a lot of admirable qualities but has not been flexible, open or emotionally connected enough to cope with the life he has taken on in the military. Similarly, he has been unable to find, solace, rest or healing and his relentless aggression has lead to great and perhaps irretrievable personal and professional loss. Jonah is just the type I would want to stay right away from my daughters when they are old enough to choose a partner. I would want to chase the rigid individual off with a broom from my house. Tripp is so much of a better choice on so many levels. I totally shipped him as a partner for Maggie. Not enjoying watching Maggie gravitate towards someone that appears incapable of valuing or opening up to her.

All of that aside - about to start Book 3 with an enthusiasm to find out where Tarah is going to take the story which really is quite creative and action-packed. And as with Book 1, the narration for Book 2 by Jacqueline DeGraff is outstanding across the book.

Great continuation of the saga

I really enjoy Benner’s story telling style. The characters are relatable and fun to follow. She is definitely telling an eerily believable story of our possible future.

Action packed all the way through!

It’s really getting good. I love that I feel like I really know the characters now. My favorite part about this series is that it’s based on actual events that could really happen in the future and how it’s making me think about the dangers of it and how I and all of us just keep contributing to giving up our privacy’s. Privacy is becoming extinct. Thank you for the Author notes very helpful. The story is amazing. I’m on book 4.

Awesome!

The second book in the series is just as great as the first one. This novel has a lot more action, but it still has a good plot and some feelings. I truly recommend it!

Love this series and author!!

Love this series! It is the second series of this author’s I’ve read and it is just nonstop sci-fi fun and action! The ending author’s commentary is one of my favorite parts! People truly don’t realize how many of their basic rights they are giving away freely by agreeing to and using technology - as a tech major, I definitely see the benefits of technology but so many just don’t even consider things they have as a convenience could be terrifying in the wrong hands! Keep them coming!!!

The second installment gripped me

The way the book is written and considering the way technology is taking over our lives, the plot is horrifying and gripping. I have bought into Maggie, and how can we not like Jonah? Trip is kind of thrown in the middle, a little of a cliché but with his influence / wealth the story can move forward. I really enjoy the action in this series, whether in the space station or on earth, the plot thickens and I am more sold on the series than with the first book.

Jaqueline DeGraff is still not totally sold on me, though. She definitely got better since Book 1 with regards to the lilting, but I hated her British accent, totally grated on my nerves - having grown up there, this is not how anyone in England sounds. But it might be good enough for Americans or other non-British that are not that used to accents. Anyway, I still like how she changes her voices to match the characters but the British accent and Mordecai's very unnatural tone were annoying.
