I love the narrator. She is the voice of Sookie that I had in my head before the TV series and she does an amazing job

I really enjoy listening to how Sookie thinks....she makes me laugh

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

She is great at changing her voice for each character.

This is a very enjoyable book and Johanna Parker is a great narrator. I have listened to many books but these are the best so far!

One of my favorite series

I've read the sookie stackhouse series and when I saw it available in audible I just couldn't resist. I was not dissappointed. Johanna Parker does an amazing job at bringing the characters to life. Charlaine's series has a little something for everyone; horror, mystery, blood, gore, and romance. What more could you need?

Intresting story and fun to listen to.

Light and interesting with new characters introduced. Additional development of main characters. Second time listening to series.

Better and Better

This is the third book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. In this book Sookie has to go rescue her boyfriend bill in Mississippi. I will admit that I like the first two books but was not crazy about them and could not see what all the hype about this series was about. They were the books I bought when I ran out of ideas for other books. But with this third book I am hooked. I could not put it down. They introduced some new characters in this book, one of which I absolutely love and hope they keep in up coming books. Bubba was back in this book and I just love Bubba I hope they keep him around also. This book has me whishing I had my next credit to get the forth book right away. The narrator is the same in this book as the first two books and she did great, I love the life she brings to Sookie and the other characters. So far this is the best book in the series and I’m happy I stuck with it after the first two books.

Better than the TV Show, but some accents don’t fit and are distracting.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to the books after having watched the TV show previously. There is so much more to the plots, and I’ve found myself wishing the show had been more true to the books!

My only complaint is that some of the accents don’t make sense for the characters and are distracting. Most of the southern accents are fine, but the biggest offender is the voice she uses for Eric. He sounds like a bad cross between a Russian accent and Dracula…which makes no sense given that he’s supposed to have been a Viking/Nordic in his human life. The accent itself is also just generally not well done and really takes away from a character that has such a large role and is supposed to be so desirable.

I actually may not listen to the rest of the books and opt to read them if the accent remains consistent through the rest of the audiobooks because it takes away from the story so much.

Otherwise really great books, fun to listen to and it’s nice to have more “content” to enjoy after the TV show.

I absolutely love this audiobook. The narration is just so good. This book is brought to life.

Club Dead

I started listening to these books after watching the HBO Trueblood series and I can not get enough. Within a week, I have listen to all of them but book number 4 and I am having a hard time finding it. I think Club Dead makes you yearn for more. It was a very good listen and I could not put my IPOD down!
