Critic reviews

"If you're looking for some sexy summer listens, you'll want to check out the new audiobook series, Krinar Chronicles. Author Anna Zaires brings you a kind of 50 Shades of Grey meets Star Trek tale..." ( Marie Claire)
"For diehard fans of the paranormal romance genre, author Anna Zaires's risqué new audiobook could be your next guilty pleasure. Zaires's most recent read, Close Liaisons, combines a love story with science fiction in the tale of Mia, an unassuming college student whose life gets suddenly entangled in a dangerous, otherworldly affair." ( Woman's Day)

PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME THERE'S MORE BEING WRITTEN

Well a HEA ending to beat all other HEA endings but what Korum and Mia had to endure in order to finally get there is out of this world - literally.

At last we hear Korum's POV and what an amazing, gifted, loveable, drool-worthy, sexy, sweetie he has turned out to be as everything he does, he does for his love of Mia. They have truly grown as a couple who are deeply in love despite the obstacles of memory loss, a K traitor, the battle in the arena and meeting the all powerful Elders for a life changing decision. As they travel from NYC, Costa Rica and eventually the Krinard home planet the gifted author infuses the action-packed storyline with plot twists, genius inventions, paints a new world which is richly described in great detail and entwines it all in a very hot, romantic, passionate and truly exceptional love story that has overcome so much, including attitude and species differences, and I'm sure it's a love that will stand the test of time.

My one slight complaint is that the whole series would have been even better if it had been spoken by the same narrator and a more competent one too.

Worth a credit? I have lived with this series for some time now loving all it's many good and bad characters together with their highs and lows so I've been truly emotionally thrilled, chilled, captivated, enthralled and The Krinar Chronicles have deeply moved me so I am very sorry to have to say goodbye.

Can I have a side dish of plot with the Sex?

Good Grief! I don't think I would ever come across a series that has too much sex it in, but this trilogy sure does. There is so much sex I feel like I need to take a pregnancy test! Too much sex can be a bad thing, if there is too much fornication it loses its appeal and it becomes nothing special and a very mundane act. The over abundance of sex was just too distracting for the minimal plot, this really only should have been one book instead of 3....but there is so much sex that it became a trilogy ( TA-DA). This last book was also a recap of Korum and Mia's differences from the first book. So if you are just in the mood to watch mindless Lorno on HBO or late night Skinamax on TV then this series is for you. For me I like the plot to be the main dish and the sex a side dish or dessert....and this stew needs more meat in it.

Loved, loved, this book and the narrator! Can't wait to read more from this author. I don't even know how I got caught up in the series. After the first book I just had to know what happened next. So worth the credit. Go ahead get the book if you like vampire/not vampire/alien/ romance/ alpha male, etc.

Great Ending to a Great Story!

This narrator was much better than Kitty in book two. This was a happy ending to a great series. I can't wait for Anna Zaires new stuff to come out. This is an author that I will buy her books without even listening to the samples because I know they won't disappoint.

Great ending to a fabulous story.

If you could sum up Close Remembrance in three words, what would they be?

Love, betrayal, and future.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Korum, because he loves Mia above all things.

What does Emily Durante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings life to the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ceremonies were beautiful!

Any additional comments?

Anna Zaire's last installment in the Krinar Series brings an end to a fabulous story about love, loss and moving forward despite the struggles that present themselves. Long descriptions of events, and a host of new characters make you want more in the series, but Mrs. Zaire's wraps wrap up Mia and Korum's story beautifully.

WHOA!! WHAT AN ENDING! LOVED IT!

This is the first sci-fi, alien/human romance I have read…like ever. And, this series did not necessarily push me in the direction of other alien romances, but more so, it put Anna Zaires on my authors' radar list. She did a fantastic job in capturing the emotional and triumphant progress of such an interesting and unique romance as of that of Korum and Mia.

In this book, all loose ends, struggles and issues from previous books are brought forward and resolved in a fabulous manner. There is nothing that is left without a resolution and I really appreciated that in this series, and that is why I so loved this book.

Both Mia and Korum's relationship becomes even more grounded and catapults into an epic, legendary romance that really changed and moved both their societies and worlds, alike. Anna Zaires could have kept their story moving forward, but it's nice when an author knows when to stop as well.

In this book there are beautiful, sentimental moments between Korum and Mia. Mia's personality, gifts and worth push themselves to centerfold as she reaches new heights in her value and position in Krinar society. GO MIA!!! I was impressed at how Korum is represented as such a powerful lead. He never loses momentum, is rarely caught off guard, protects Mia at all costs, and is so intelligent that he's typically one step ahead of everyone else. There is nothing this man will not do for Mia. His love is insatiable, powerful, and gives a "forever" type of romance a whole new meaning. Both Mia and Korum's love will be added to my list of "favorites." I will regularly revisit this audiobook series…that's how much I really liked it.

Narrator: Emily Durante must have been good or at least decent because again…I was more focused on the details in this fantastic ending and not so much on the narration…I know weird, but what can I say??? Loved this series!!!

Oh, why to change narrators?

I really don't understand the business decision to use different narrators for the books in the same series with the same main characters. This is just an incompetence at its core.

I really liked the first narrator, the next two narrators are just absolutely horrible. I had to turn off Emily Durante narrating Tairen Souls and lost three credits, I just can't stomach her narration. And now this... Unfortunately, I have to put on my list "Do not buy" another book narrated by Ms. Durante.

I don't think Ms. Zaires had enough material for three books. A second and a third book was a huge stretch just to make a book. I did not have very high expectations due to genre of this category, but a combination of a poor story which was mostly a repetition of the first book with a bad narration made me regretting spending my credit.

Love that is meant to be...

What made the experience of listening to Close Remembrance the most enjoyable?

The story itself. I can't get enough of Mia and Korum.

Have you listened to any of Emily Durante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. I enjoyed Emily Durante on the other book I have listed to. I think Kitty Hendrix did a much better job in Close Obsession.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Mia loses her memory. I couldn't help but tear up and you can almost feel the pain for Korum.

Appallingly bad

Thank god this series is over. I have no idea why I persevered - it's a waste of 3 credits.

The plot is contrived and common as mud.
The romance / Erotica is yawningly boring.
The writing itself is sub standard.
The characters are one dimensional: young, naive - independent but innocent and the domineering, mind blowing lover billionaire (50 Shades, Bared to You, This Man, Blackstone).
Don't waste your time or money.
The only positive is that the narrator on this title is different. The previous 2 are read by the equivalent of a querulous maiden aunt with a cat on her lap.
