Heartbreaking!!

Lisa Regan with another fantastic novel!! I love the Josie Quinn series, this one kept me up at night! It was heartbreaking without giving it away, can’t wait to see what the team gets in to next!

Another great book by Lisa Reagan. She writes a wonderful book, so suspenseful you don’t know who did it until the very end. You actually can’t put the book down because you enjoy it so much. I’ve caught myself listening to it in bed as my husband sleeps. Thank you so much can’t wait for the next one.

This book was incredible. Had me on edge till the very end. I usually know who did it half way through the book but this one had so many twist and turns I couldn’t figure it out. Well written indeed

Close Her Eyes kept me wondering what is next! I screamed Not Mettner! Never thought Hallie would be the culprit. Can’t wait to read Book 18 to find out what Josie’s next adventure is!

Great story line but predictable

I enjoy listening to the detective Josie Quinn series on my audible app. After reading and listening to all of them, I would say they are becoming more predictable with each story. I do enjoy a mystery and find myself listening for the subtle hints throughout. This story did not have subtle clues, but rather loud, screaming indicators as to “who did it?”
Being from Pennsylvania, I found it very entertaining when my home town was mentioned in one of the books. However, I was disappointed at the incorrect pronunciation of many towns, rivers, mountains, and attractions throughout the series. For example, Knobels amusement park is actually pronounced with a hard “k.” Ka NOBELS.
It’s the little attention to details that can make or break a book for me.
Perhaps I should go back to reading instead of listening!

Honestly, I don’t want to give anything away. I’ll just say that if you are a fan of the Josie Quinn series,, you must read this one! This is definitely one of my most favorite out of the entire series.

Close Her Eyes - Josie Quinn Novel

Plot. The Detective Josie Quinn series consists of several police procedurals, most involving missing or murdered women or girls. The setting is a small town in Pennsylvania. Josie's childhood trauma is interwoven into each story; we watch her character struggle with her job, love life, and the brain-twisting murders traversing the series.

Liked, Characters. Stories are initially straightforward who-done-it murders that morph into complex mysteries to enjoy. Josie's circle of friends consists of her fellow cops, the medical examiner, and her boss, each with a unique personality. Her family is initially small, but you'll see it expand as the stories progress. Not too many characters to keep track of - as they are integrated into each story. You'll have fun getting to know the characters and puzzling solutions. You'll find yourself muttering, "Wait ... what?" near the end of most books as the plots twist and surprises abound.

Not so hot. The first three books were poorly narrated by Eilidh Beaton as diction, and child-like pronunciation were annoying. But stick with it, as the rest are well-read by Kate Handford. Production is fine; bumped speed to 1.4 - a preference, not a criticism.

The series is written by Lisa Regan and released from early 2018 through today. Bookouture published initially, later picked up by Hachette.

Recommended murder mysteries.
