Publisher's summary

Kurt Austin must find a vanished ship and stave off a global catastrophe in the latest novel in the #1 New York Times-bestselling series created by the “grand master of adventure” Clive Cussler.

A freighter carrying top-secret computers of unparalleled capability disappears in the Western Pacific. While searching for a lost treasure that once belonged to the famous Chinese pirate queen, Ching Shih, Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala are redirected to look for the missing vessel.

Discovering that the sinking of the ship is just part of an intricate web of deception, they find themselves in the middle of a cyber-war between rival groups of hackers, both of whom want to control the flow of data around the world.

With no allies except a group of pirates who operate under their own crude laws, Kurt and Joe must rescue a colleague held hostage—while keeping the computers out of Russian or Chinese hands and the world’s digital information safe from the hackers.

A worthy succesor!

This was a great book! Graham Brown did a very nice job of capturing what made Clive Cussler books so beloved. I hope the upcoming Oregon Files book due this Fall is as good.

Like the original Clive Cussler stories and just as entertaining!

This book uses the same a story pattern as all the Dirk Pitt novels and although the pattern is predictable, this story is very creative, informative and entertaining with well developed characters that you love or despise. Felt like a genuine book authored by Clive Cussler

The Usual

As with so many other popular writers, and this after his death, Cussler's heroes once again foil amazing villains and save the world. Of course, we all know at the start there's the little piece of 'ancient history', then the switch to modern times and one of several sets of Cussler heroes. We know, like James Bond and Hercule Poirot and so many others, that the heroes will be possibly in grave danger, battered and bruised perhaps, but will triumph in the end. Even knowing all that and having read several dozen of Cussler's books, they're still a lot of fun. Scott Brick is the best reader I've ever heard for this type of book.

meh

Not my favorite Cussler novel. A little too fantastical and beyond belief for my taste.
