I think there are other scientific pieces available worth reading before picking up this book.

Fantastically balanced and optimistic.

Fantastically balanced and optimistic. A very well balanced approach to creating opportunities, prevent mistakes, and finding beneficial ways to successfully transition from high dependence on fossil fuels.

Risky stance to take

A lot of this flies in the face of the precautionary principle, criticizing actions taken on limited evidence based on emerging research. Does not seem very risk averse, brushing off outcomes with low probability but high impact because they might not happen.
