I picked up this book on cleaning hacks because it was available for free through my library, and while I appreciated the cost (or lack thereof), I found the content to be incredibly underwhelming.

The book is extremely general, offering surface-level advice like “buy a smaller house,” “move closer to your job,” or “find someone to hold you accountable.” While those may be helpful concepts in a broad life-coaching context, they don’t belong in a book marketed as a guide to cleaning hacks. I was hoping for tangible, day-to-day organizing or housekeeping tips—but none were to be found.

The flow of the book is passable, but the tone reminded me of a high school student giving a last-minute PowerPoint presentation after doing some quick online research. It's not terrible, but there’s nothing in this book that couldn’t be found in a single in-depth social media post or blog article. It lacks depth, originality, and most importantly, actionable strategies.

Had I paid for this book, I would have been quite disappointed. As a free download, it was tolerable—but not something I’d recommend to anyone seriously looking for help with household management.

If you’re looking for practical, step-by-step guidance, I’d strongly recommend checking out Decluttering at the Speed of Life by Dana K. White. Her approach is realistic, detailed, and truly helpful for everyday life.

Disappointingly Vague — Lacks Practical Usefulness
