Publisher's summary

Bookstore owner Willa Chance had no idea that a magical key was hidden in the old recipe book that she sold to food blogger Mary Ashford. Luckily the key is now safely tucked away in a box high on a shelf in the bookstore...or is it?

Feline sleuth Pandora needs Willa's help to make sure that key doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. This time she’ll have to take drastic measures to break through the barrier that has stopped her from communicating with her human...even if she has to take a chance on one of Pepper St. Onge’s enchanted teas. The teas are known to have unpredictable results, but Pandora is desperate and what could be worse than the threat to Mystic Notch?

The results of drinking the tea are worse than Pandora could have ever imagined. But not worse than murder. Which is exactly what happens to Mary Ashford. And if Pandora and Willa don’t figure out who is behind this, Mary won’t be the only one who ends up dead.

Claw & Order

I liked the fact that Willa is finally able to communicate with Pandora. But Pandora loses a vital gift as a result. Mystic Notch & it’s inhabitants become endangered b/c of an ancient cook book that apparently is filled with more than recipes. Will the book fall into the wrong hands? One of the better books in this series.

Another winner

Leighann Dobbs has written another exciting installment in her series, it’s full of all the characters you’ve known and loved and there’s even a mystery to boot. I look forward to the next in series.
Hollis McCarthy, as always, gave a stellar performance as she breathed life into the story and giving each character their own distinct voice.
I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

Finally Communication!

I enjoy this book, and the progress in Wila's relationships. Many fences were mended. Excellent narration, I reccomend this book and serves.

Good story advancement but can’t take the narrator anymore

The story changes are positive. While Willa’s background as a crime journalist is still a reach given how bad she is at picking up clues and how little intuition she actually has, it finally feels like the story is advancing instead of being stuck in an irritating rut. That being said though I just can’t take the narrator anymore. The overdramatized way she presents the characters and the complete lack of differentiation (with the exception of all the male characters sounding a bit slow and all of the female characters sounding like they’re in a bad PI story) are too much to suffer through. This will be one I’ll have to read myself if the series continues.

It’s okay

Glad for some of the changes in the story but it is getting a little drawn out. Hollis McCarthy is one of my favorite narrators
