Night of The Living Dummy, but does it hold up?

Goosebumps is still on-going, which is insane. But there are a few flaws holding this story back from the status people sometimes give it. This book is like the first Friday the 13th film to the Slappy/Living Dummy series. What I mean by that is, Slappy is not the evil main villain. At the end, yes. But for the majority of the book it's Mr. Wood. I do think the original cover is a little less misleading. In the original it does show a scene from the book, but for the younger people trying to read this it may be confusing. Although I think it strengthens the twist. This is only nitpicks, but the biggest flaw is the narration. There are times where the acting sounds like the 90's series. But I still think the pros out weigh the cons. a classic, but would still suggest reading it yourself if you are able to.

answer: yep. but not the best way of viewing this story.
notes: R.L Stine's Intro is a classic that reminds me of the 90's series.

Surprising! (Lite spoilers, I guess)

I liked this one a lot. I imagine this one would have been more relatable if you grew up as a twin because RL Stein seemingly nailed the twin dynamic, if that makes sense. I was surprised by how little Slappy appears in this & how little he does in his introduction! This is his debut, & considering what an icon he is now, I would have thought he was the star! He later became the mascot of the franchise for crying out loud, and yet Mr. Wood steals the show for most of this. Very unexpected, but still very good!

I ended up enjoying this book more than I expected too. there were some clever twists and even a bit of suspense.

for the audible version the narrator was the best I've heard!

Brings back memories

It’s been awhile since I read the Night of the Living Dummy, this brings back those classic Goosebumps vibes. I would say the only thing I didn’t like and it is very minor, is the reader’s Mr. Wood voice and the shrieking voice for the girls.

Night Of the Living Dummy

I really enjoyed Night of the Living Dummy. The most memorable moment for me was when Lindy pulled that evil joke on her sister Chris but it really showed the sibiling bond they had with each other and the useful stunt of the dummy trap. I really liked how the narrorator got into each of the characters voices and was having a lot of fun with it. Thank you for doing this and giving entertainment. I hope you keep more coming.
