Publisher's summary

Warlocks Augum, Bridget, and Leera are finally able to relax after a grueling ordeal in Bahbell. But their fugitive mentor, the legendary Anna Atticus Stone, tasks them with a dangerous new quest - sneak into an ancient library and research an artifact that could devastate the Legion, and turn the tide in the war.

Their substitute mentor Leopold Harvus, however, is an obsessive and petty man with a distaste for anything untoward, particularly Augum and Leera’s affections for each other. As their studies suffer from his meddling, Harvus finally pushes Augum too far - leading to a brazen act of rebellion that plunges the trio and their quest into mortal peril, for Harvus quickly proves he is not a man to be trifled with.

Not as good as the first 3 books

This is a fun series and the narrator is great. However, there’s too much of the romance between 2 of the characters. It takes away from the story

Starts out bad, But has a good ending

This was my least favorite of the series so far, mostly due to the childish romance portion at the beginning. It took me out of the story and made it hard to really continue. I’m really glad I read the first two and really liked how the story was going and I want to know how it concludes otherwise I would’ve stopped. The ending is really good it’s definitely worth finishing. The narrator is amazing though!

Mya? Mia?

ONE and only negative this I can say about the READING of the book(s) is that he changes the name mya to Mia in this book when the first 3 books it was Mya. small and insufficient but hard not to notice :) love the books soooooo much.

Slog through the first half

I literally stopped listening to the book and started a new one because I was so disgusted with the writing of Mentor Harvus and the daughter of the mayor of the village. It was so two dimensional, and stupid. However once the quest began the story was thoroughly enjoyable. I honestly recommend listening to the first portion of the story at a faster speed so you get through it faster.

Kids make dumb choices you know will work out

As usual, this narrator is excellent. The story takes several hours to plod to its inevitable conclusion. you don't know how it's going to work out but you know it will, even in the face of ridiculous choices made again and again by the central trio. 75% of the story is excellent and that's why I'm still here at this point in the series. this is not the Pillars of the Earth where you don't dare get attached to any single character. to say more would be on the cusp of a spoiler, so just enjoy the story for what it is. I appreciate the offer bringing this tail to us.

Excellent Series

I am so into this. The entire series is captivating and each book gets better and better as you listen/read on. The voice actor is great. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in series

Didn't want to stop

Although, like many books, it had its slow moments, the pace was usually a good one. Could have been a bit more in the maze but that's just me.

Slow start but good in the end

Beginning of the book starts off slow. It seems a bit repetitive with some of the other challenges encountered in the other books where the kids run into a cruel teacher and have to figure out how to get out of the bad situation. Once they Get to the library things pick up and become interesting again over all its good book
