Publisher's Summary

A Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestseller.

All defenses are down in the fifth Ace Security novel from New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker.

Sarah Butler isn’t flattered. She’s angry and unnerved. She’s been getting intimate gifts from a man she barely knows. Nothing threatening yet, but there’s just a weird vibe she can’t ignore. Her recourse is Ace Security. Their solution: self-defense lessons at Rock Hard Gym with a personal, hands-on instructor. One look at the bearded, tattooed, green-eyed alpha is enough to take Sarah’s breath away.

Cole Johnson is definitely the man for the job. He’s eager to train her. Eager to get closer. And when it comes to Sarah’s instincts, Cole knows she’s not imagining things. He’s also not imagining the intense attraction between them - and his desire to protect her is growing. But so are Sarah’s fears, the worst of which come true when she disappears.

Enlisting the help of Ace Security, Cole will stop at nothing to find the love of his life...before she vanishes forever.

Abandoned by Chapter 5

Omg. This story was too perfect. Girl is being stalked, Meets Mr Perfect, he tells her that she belongs to him if they have sex ( mental abuse) also he wants to inpregnate her the first time they had sex. I felt like screaming. i literally had to stop my car to take it off.

Yawn

I usually love Susan Stokers books but yikers. Between the story time narrator and the bland AF characters I barely got through this book. The main characters had no chemistry or depth and the ending was just plain dumb and honestly unrealistic. One of my issues with her series that she creates is that after a few books, everyone is connected and a “family” it just takes the realism out of the story. This one definitely got to the point where I was worried I’d get a cavity from how grossly sweet everyone was to each other. Glad I didn’t use a credit for this.

Takes a while to start.

It seemed to take a while to get to the action and I had to make myself hang in there, but than it got better. Cole is not like the other alpha males from pass stories, but he fits the part. Sarah is different also and they fit each other very well. Sarah finds herself kidnapped by a man with a very low IQ. He is a man/child and he is really just alone because his mother, (Çaretaker) , has died. Those alpha males of pass stories, (Ace Security), put their skills together and go after Sarah to bring her home. They do, and everything works out. Sarah has a good pure heart and you know she understands why this man/child has chosen her to run away with. He only wants someone to take care of him. I just didn't want to see this man hurt. He truly didn't understand why he couldn't just take the woman he wanted to replace his mother. Not the best in the series, but always nice to see what is happening with all supporting cast members.

Too much mushy stuff for me

Story line was I interesting. Readers did a good job. For me, there was way to much explanation of emotions and sexual stuff. That part was over the top, boring, and added little to the story line. On a good note, I listened to most of the book but stopped before the end when in turned into a 100% of the stuff I did not like.

Recommended

An excellent addition to the Ace Security series. This completes the main characters' stories. Cole is a wonderful Alpha protector and Sarah is almost to good to be true. The make a terrific couple. Sarah's admirer is a surprise. I really liked the twist.

Erin Bennett did a great job bringing the story to life.

Very disappointed 😞

No storey, more sex than plot. Repetition of the words and thoughts made the story boring and predictable.

Not her best work

I adore Susan Stoker and have read all of her books. I found this story to feel very contrived and corny. The characters were not developed like she usually does and the love story was hard to buy into. Sorry Susan.

Another great story

This romantic mystery was very exciting, kept you on the edge at times wondering what would happen. Love that she brings all the past characters into each story. I thought Sarah was just a little too sweet, didn’t care for her as much as the past females, but Cole made up for it. Great narration by Ms Bennett.

Loved it! Shame it is the end of this series

A fantastic last book in this series, bittersweet, as I loved each and every one of the characters for different reasons. The humour is constant, the interactions between the friends and brothers kept me smiling and grinning throughout, there is suspense and lots of hot and steamy scenes. The epilogue brings all 5 books to a swoony closure, I just didn't want it to end, sigh. The narrator did an excellent job and pulled me into the story and kept me there.

Another enjoyable story

I'm a big fan of SS and, while not her best, this is still a solid and thoroughly enjoyable finish to the Ace Security series. Cole is a great hero and I also liked Sarah, although she's a bit too perfect to be true. The danger Sarah is in turns out to be very different from any previous stories and I liked how it was resolved.

One thing that annoyed me a great deal was that SS seems to have forgotten the sequence of events in Saving Felicity, as there are several references to Felicity being taken and needing to be found. If you've read/heard that story, you'll know that isn't how it played out!

EB's narration is good, but not great.
