Publisher's summary

This series is intended for 18+ listeners due to violence, language, and lustful monster girls who want to breed.

In the world of Eden, a great evil has befallen mankind. Monsters of an unknown origin roam the lands, searching for those to use in populating their various races with. However, all the monsters in Eden are female, unable to give birth to any males for their kind. Now the men of humanity have become the target for these lustful creatures, and the women have taken up the blade in order to defend their race. It’s a dark time in the world, and mankind is at war not only with itself, but also the monsters that threaten to steal away all of their men. Yet there is one that believes not all of these creatures are truly evil, that some of them may actually be mankind’s key to survival in this world. And he’s willing to place his life, and virginity, on the line to prove it.

I love this series

I have been waiting so long for this series to become an audiobook. I hope we will one day have all of these books in audio form.

Still a good story, but a not so good performance

(sigh) . . . I'm very sorry to have to say this, but I really don't like this audiobook.

Mind you, I'm not saying I hate the story that's being told. I love Chronicles of Eden, and that includes this first entry.

However, it's the narrator's performance that I don't care for. Forgive me for being blunt, but the narrator's tone sounds robotic and barely gives any inflection or emotion. When I listen to the characters' dialogue, it's almost impossible to tell who's speaking, and the tone in which they talk doesn't match with the adjectives used in the speech tags. I don't hear any joy, or anger, or sympathy, or frustration, or confusion. All I hear is just neutral conversation.

Again, I apologize for this criticism. Perhaps the reason I feel this way is because, when I read the books, the characters sound much different inside my head. Still, even so, I do not like this narrator's performance because of how little emotion I detect. It doesn't pull me into the story and makes me want to keep listening. Really, I'd rather just pick up the book and read it myself.

Perhaps, next time, the narrator can give more attention to the emotion to what's being said, as well as the characters who are speaking. Chronicles of Eden has a VAST variety of characters, all with different personalities, beliefs, and ways of speaking. Thus, the narrating of these characters should match the tone and mindset of these characters.

I wish the narrator luck in improving and I happily look forward to reading future entries of this series.

Interesting world but too much unnecessary bickering.

Really wanted to enjoy this book but most of the time I only cringed. The bickering between the girls without any real resolution was tiering and Daniels “Dense MCness” was also annoying. The PoV swap are almost too fast to catch. Felt extremely “anime” with all the tsundere childhood friend bs and MC going out with a goal without any real idea how to accomplish it.

All the violence and then they are fine as if trying to kill the people around you if fine and dandy. Will probably get the free books and see if it gets better.

I Enjoyed This Story

One of the things that draws me to this story is that the main character Daniel does not fall into the usual formula most writers use when they do a harem protagonist. He is not over powered from the start, an idiot, or is over confidant. Instead we have someone who actually has to use his brain or shear determination to get out of less than ideal situations. As someone who has read the books to those who may be starting of this series with the audio versions I can tell you that the character development that the Main Character goes though will be something to behold when he goes from zero to hero over the course of the books that make up the first season of this series.

There's no reason this story shouldn't have 2 book

Hoe come shit stories can get entire series/sagas spanning 10 or more books. but hidden gems get shafted? (and not in a fun way)

Boring

Terrible character development took forever to finish. Story has a concept but no follow through. Half the book is characters arguing.

Way too much bickering

Clueless guy with multiple females constantly bickering over him..... It is just too stupid. Lets just hope that a female dragon comes down and eats them all including the clueless guy!!!!
