Publisher's Summary

Jealousy, tragedy, survival, and revenge - the discovery of Christopher’s diary in the ruins of Foxworth Hall brings new secrets of the Dollanganger family to light and obsesses a new generation. With Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind both now major Lifetime TV events, this first new addition to the Dollanganger story in nearly 30 years is a timely look at the events in the attic - from teenage Christopher’s point of view.

And don’t forget to preorder the follow-up, Christopher’s Diary: Echoes of Dollanganger!

Christopher Dollanganger was 14 when he and his younger siblings - Cathy and the twins, Cory and Carrie - were locked away in the attic of Foxworth Hall, prisoners of their mother’s greedy inheritance scheme. For three long years, he kept hope alive for the sake of the others. But the shocking truth about how their ordeal affected him was always kept hidden - until now.

super Boring

This has got to be the worst book of this whole series. It is boring, uneventful, and predictable.

nothing happens

I am not one to give reviews, much less bad reviews, but I feel ripped off, the half of the story is what we knew, no secrets revealed, the other half is about a teenager in the present time that expresses her self as my great grandma would, but the worst part is that NOTHING HAPPENS!! Just ramblings about a rich boyfriend, and some other nonsense. I loved VC Andrews because her books were filled with outrageous and unexpected twists and turns ...absolutely nothing happends . I have to literally force myself to finish listening to this nonsense / the performances the girl was upbeat and entertaining the Chrispher voice put me to sleep Every time. Sorry really bad overall

NOTHING new at all about Christopher here

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, I would completely omit the new story line about the distant third cousin. I get that the author is attempting to foreshadow future books that are being penned, but it is done in such an obvious manner that it makes the brand name of V. C. Andrews feel like a cash cow just milking it's readers.

I also find it ridiculous that this is a TWO part book. There is not nearly enough information in this book to neccessitate dividing into two parts.

What could V.C. Andrews have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Virginia Andrews could not have done anything to make this more enjoyable. But the ghost author, Andrew Neiderman, COULD do some research on how a teenager actually speaks and acts in the year 2014. I have not met a teenager that uses the word "blouse" in a very long time.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kirby Heyborne and Rebekkah Ross ’s performances?

Kirby Heyborne's performance was good.

Rebekkah Ross sounded much too old for the character.

Could you see Christopher's Diary: Secrets of Foxworth being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

ABSOLUTELY not! Let's try to get the Dollanganger's right on screen before, we start trying to add this new character.

Any additional comments?

I will say again, making this book a TWO part book is the most OBVIOUS attempt at needling money out of readers I believe I have ever seen.

Better than I thought it would be!

I buy every book by this author and have since back in the 80s! This book it much better than I thought it would be. I thought it would probably be boring as it was a diary and most diaries are, however I was pleasantly surprised. This is an actual novel. I love how there were two narrators. The female narrator, Rebekkah Ross, read the 1st person parts and Kirby Heybone read the parts of Christopher's diary.

This turned out to be an actual novel! Kristen Masterwood' is a cousin of the Foxworths. Kristen's dad is contracted to tear down the old Foxworth Hall (after 2 fires) and clean the grounds up to sell the land off. It is here where Kristen's dad discovers an old box and let's Kristnen open it. This is where Kristen discovers and old book which turned out to be a diary written by Christopher Dollanganger back in the attic days.

Until now, the town has only had rumors as to what happened so any years ago. Now through Kristen's eyes we venture into the past and hear the truth according to Christopher. Kristen is consumed by this diary and the rest you have to read to find out what else is learned...

I did enjoy this book. The author VC Andrews, did a great job writing it in my opinion. As always, I wasn't disappointed. The way the book was written, I sat down and listened to this story all in one day! Both of the narrators did a great job reading & delivering this story to us with all their voices. I found this book to be very entertaining!

By the way... VC Andrews was the 1st authors book I read after turning 18 and being on my own. Flowers in the attic was so good, it made me a VC Andrews fan for life!

Decent book; narration is horrible

I love V.C. Andrews and how twisted her books are. However, the narrator of this book is absolutely horrible. I’m halfway through and trying to do what I can to get through!

Disappointed

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I'd like to hear more of what Christopher went through

What was most disappointing about V.C. Andrews’s story?

It ended lacking

How did the narrator detract from the book?

They couldn't detract from something that wasn't there.

Do you think Christopher's Diary: Secrets of Foxworth needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, because it gave us nothing it was a waste of money, really disappointed in that book. I wish I had saved my money.

Any additional comments?

This was the first of her books that I felt this way about.
