Publisher's summary

Adelaide Willowby is having a bad day. It’s a week before Christmas, and she has just kicked out the love of her life. Her sister and her daughter are barely speaking to her, one of her best girls is getting married, and ownership of the Wylder County Social Club is in jeopardy. Now she has landed in jail—for murder.

Russ Holt has relied on alcohol to quiet the ghosts from his past for far too long. His latest bender has caused him to let down both Addie and his son, and he knows something has to change. When a stranger in town is found dead and Miss Adelaide is arrested for murder, Russ smells a rat.

Can he battle his demons, hunt down the real killer, and win back the woman he loves?

Small historical town still has love

Addy is a strong willed woman who puts her foot down even when it comes to her love and happiness to make sure someone else she loves doesn’t die from being an alcoholic. Her deceased husbands crooked brother and partners come to town to try to ruin Addy life and get her business. Even tho Addy has pushed Russ away to choose between alcohol or love Russ jumps in to find a way to get out jail in time for Christmas and from being hung. Russ seems like a huge hero in the book from saving an infants life to doing whatever it takes to find the answers needed to save his Addy. Dawson did an awesome job reading this story and sounding like an old western twang ❤️.

Christmas miracles do happen!

I love coming back to visit Wylder, and boy is this one action packed! There is a lot going on in this small town, and Addie is taking the brunt of it! The worst of it is that her place of business is in jeopardy, and this would not only effect her, but her girls as well. Now accused of murder, she finds herself in a predicament that seems impossible to get out of. Russ has loved Addie for years, and his dependency on alcohol has kept him at arms length. Now determined to help her, and clean his act up, he is on a mission. But a train wreck and a blizzard all put a wrench in finding the answers, leaving danger lurking in Wylder. Will it all turn out ok? Let's see...where to start! I love that Addie and Russ who we have met in other books now get their story. It's fun to have visit places we have already been like Addie's Social Club and the way everyone in town looks out for each other. It's a place I love to come back to, enjoying the warmth and hometown feel of the old west. The pairing of McCaffrey and Turner just makes this installment shine!

Dawson McBride narrates this book with his wonderful storytelling skills. I love his voice. It's the kind that is easy to listen to and makes me fall into the book as if I was there. He always brings a smile to my face when I heat that it's him, as I know I will be in for a treat, and this one is no exception. I cannot wait to visit Wylder County again!
