Publisher's Summary

He is the eldest brother of three orphaned dark vampire waifs, bound by a lifetime vow of service to protect the offspring of the Golden Vampire Monteleone family. This is a debt that Lionel Jett can never discharge.

Phoebe Dominichelli is a 19 year old virgin, a Golden who has not taken the turning and who appears identical to her ancient great-great-grandmother, Maria Monteleone. Lionel Jett once harbored a secret and platonic love for Maria, who died as a mortal over three centuries ago.

The two vampire races are forbidden to mate, yet Phoebe and Lionel’s attraction risks their very souls. In addition, the war brewing between the two species threatens the entire vampire society. When the two worlds collide, who will win out? Will their brief affair be worth an eternity of damnation? Or, can duty and honor leave room for love or the possibility of a happily ever after?

Book 3 of the Golden Vampires of Tuscany series. Book 1: Honeymoon Bite, Book 2: Mortal Bite. Book 4 coming Fall 2019.

Interesting

Although I am not a fan of books about vampires, Sharon Hamilton does a wonderful job of keeping you interested the whole way through.

The Christmas Bite

The Christmas Bite is book 3 in the Golden Vampires Of Tuscany series. Lionel Jett and his two brothers, Hugh and Jeb. They are Dark Vampires, who's job it is to protect the "Goldens". The ruling family is the Monteleone family. Centuries ago Lionel loved Maria Monteleone as a sister, and was practically destroyed when she married a mortal and refused be turned into an immortal Lionel along with his brother Hugh rescues Phoebe Dominichelli, a Golden, a mortal and Marie"s great, great granddaughter from an attack at a wedding ceremony. Lionel along with his brother Hugh rescues Phoebe Dominichelli, a Golden, and a mortal from an attack at a wedding ceremony. Jeb, their brother is missing and believed to be dead. Lionel is given the information that Jeb might be alive, Lionel is warned that it might be a trap, and Jeb could be dead. Lionel finds his brother but he is near death. He managed to rescue him and bring him home to nurse him back to health. On their return, Lionel and Hugh are assigned to the Dominichelli family after an attack on Phoebe .The attack leaves Phoebe weak. Lionel is immediately attracted to her, but it is strictly forbidden for them to be together. Lionel is determined to stay away, but Phoebe persuades her family to allow her to marry Lionel as her bodyguard/husband. They would be man and wife in name only. As noted this is book 3 in the series and ends with a cliffhanger so you will definitely want to get the book four!

Lionel and Phoebe!

Lionel takes his oath to keep the Monteleone family safe very seriously especially when it comes Phoebe. From the first time he saw her she reminds him of her great, great grandmother who he loved and lost.

Phoebe is 19 so when she finds out that she is danger and that her parents want her to take a husband. It was supposed to be an arranged marriage until she finds her fated mate so she decides to marry Lionel. The only problem is that she and Lionel have developed feelings for each other but being together could cause widespread devastation.

This is not the end of the story for Lionel and Phoebe however it does end in a happy for now. With everything conspiring against them they have a battle on their hands. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and enjoyed the performance of the narrator.

Golden Vamps

I always love anything by Sharon Hamilton. I read the first two books several years ago and should have reread them before listening to this one. I was a little confused on the back story. I'm also not a fan of books that leave me hanging until the next one comes out. So for me, it wasn't a 5 Star. But saying that, you can never go wrong with a Sharon Hamilton story. Her characters are always interesting and well thought out.
I'm also a big fan of J D Hart as a narrator and he did not disappoint in this audible reading. Thank you for allowing me to review this audible book for free
