Good mech book
Bear with me first review I’ve done. Had my reservations about getting this book, since the author was the narrator. Glad I did Scott did not do too bad of a job narrating I enjoyed the book . if you enjoy big stomping death robots, you should enjoy this book.

Much better then I thought!
While Scott tries his hardest to narrate his own book he does not do it justice in the slightest. Luckily with the classic unwilling MC, wrench turner turned mech jock makes for a great story packed in a very little frills package. Highly recommended by me, fellow lover of sci fi and mech books. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did... and Scott please get a narrator for your books!

Great Sci-Fi "Read"
I enjoyed this story and can't wait to get the next in the series. if you're looking for a masterpiece of literature, then you'll be disappointed. However, if you're looking for a fun and entertaining story with a little bit of action, and sci-fi tech, and friendship, and most definitely mechs, then you'll probably enjoy this story.

Astounded
Let me just say after 650+ books and countless hours I've become very selective about what I'll listen to much less write a review about.
This book was excellent! the characters were well written with good backstory and likable, The world building and technological insight was thorough, without being and info dump and it had a very satisfying story ark.
as for narration, you can tell the author put some work into it as the sound quality was high, he's no RC Bray but does a very good job of keeping the emotion up and differentiating characters.
I will definitely be purchasing the next in the series.
Give this book a shot, you'll be glad you did.

good description of combat.
the narrator was trash for this kind of story. too monotone to portray the story in an engaging way. this should have gotten more love it could have been great with a narrator that could give a decent performance. I only finished the book because the story was strong enough. wish I could rate it better but the narrator... just dropped the ball at every turn
