Impressive

I was never a big fan of Oliver Stone movies. After listening to this book I am now a fan of Oliver Stone the man for his courage to tell stories that were closer to the truth than most people realize.

🤯🤯🤯

Profound. Rich. Deep. All of OS’s contributions are epic. I’ve been watching Platoon about once a year since it came out. Not to mention The Doors movie. He’s THE master of reality fiction. Which is profoundly vital and necessary. I know the movies are amazing but wasn’t aware he writes memoir prose with savoir-faire, like Bukowski, but more canny.

Gold Standard in Narration

The storytelling and narration in Stone's memoir amplifies the content and literally sets the bar for all audiobooks. If only such care and consistency were present in other audiobooks that may have great content but suffer from detached or monotone narration, taking away from the experience. Kudos to Stone for really making this as personable as possible, and If you're an Oliver Stone fan, you're gonna love this! Can't wait for the continuation of the story! Hope he gets to make Defiance some day, and sad to know that he could have made an epic about the 1886 massacre with Marlon Brando, right off the heels of Platoon.

Stone always tells the truth

Dealing with the first half of his life and career the filmmaker spares neither himself or others as he deals out an honest take. Well worth a listen.

Light. And more light!

I wished all human beings were as skillful in self expression and insight in Truth as Oliver Stone. Doing a review of their life journey in their late 70s. The world might become then a better world. More filled with light.

Nothing short of spectacular

Nothing short of spectacular, made even better if you are a movie buff. The intimacy that Stone lets us in on is next level. The fact that he recorded it in his voice might be the secret sauce that might make the audio version better than reading the book.

"Then unafraid of the Dark" !

Narrative was great.. Stone worked so very hard. It was raw adventure. What dreams are made. God given talent.

Intruiging

I loved the honesty that Oliver pours out of his troubled soul and his determined will to succeed I would recommend this book to anyone who would question the wrongdoing of pointless war Oliver let’s us know without glossing over the truth the way he narrated this book was superb
