Publisher's Summary

Believed dead by his packmates, Micah Chase, a wolf shifter and Dreamwalker, was held captive for months, subject to tortures that left him physically scarred and emotionally unsettled. Now under the care of the Alpha Pack's doctors, he's been prescribed an experimental healing drug, but he still can't shake the nightmares. Even more damning is that Micah's problems pose a danger to his team, and if he doesn't get himself under control, they'll all suffer a terrible fate. There is a key to his salvation.

Jacee is a beautiful coyote shifter, and though her kind is hated, she's falling in love with a man whose very future is in her hands. Together they'll face his personal demons as well as a deadly enemy - and for both of them desire has never come with such risk.

Not the book I hoped for!

Would you try another book from J. D. Tyler and/or Marguerite Gavin?

I will continue to follow the story of the Alpha Pack as long as J. D. Tyler continues to write them, but I must say, I was a little disappointed with this book. After waiting so long for the next part of this series, and after being so excited to know I could finally hear the story of Micah Chase, I found this book was a let down.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

There was, (IMO), NOT enough action! If you have listened to the previous books you know they keep you pumped up and at times holding your breath. Well, this book didn't do any of that for me. It just seemed to fall flat. Just Not enough fight like I expected after the first six stories.

Did Marguerite Gavin do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Marguerite Gavin did NOT do the narration justice. I gave the first six books a five star rating, Even gave Ms Gavin five stars on the last book, but with this one she just fell short!

Was Chase the Darkness worth the listening time?

I will say, go ahead and listen to the book. I always like to read the whole series and don't like to skip. I feel like you miss information when you do, but even with the story not having as much action as I would like, it is still a decent listen.

Any additional comments?

I hope they go back to using Kirsten Potter for the narration. She has a much better speaking quality and conveys the emotions of the character mush better.

Horrible Narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I wish I picked up the Kindle book.

What did you like best about this story?

It was a good story. Lots of obstacles in the couples way.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voice was flat. She was just the wrong person to do this book.

Horrible narrator ruined the book

Did you know the healer and sorcerer are BRITISH??? Ugh! With a different narrator, this would've been a good book.

:Like the series, but ....

I like the series, but these characters aren't holding my attention like the first 5 books. It's losing momentum to me. But, I'm in this far, may as well keep going. No credit or cash regrets, I just feel like it's missing something??? I don't know what, but...
It doesnt help matters that there is a different narrator, good, but not the original.

Not the Best of the Alpha Pack

I couldn't get past the narrator. I'm not sure why she bothered me so much but for some reason it didn't match the other books. The storyline was weak.

I will continue with this series I am looking forward to Phoenix and Noel.

PLEASE WRITE ANOTHER BOOK AND HAVE KIRSTEN POTTER NARRATE IT

Whoever has the bright idea to switch narrators halfway through the series should be banned from making any more decisions EVER AGAIN. DID Marguerite even listen to the narration of the first two books?? I don’t think so. Xan - has a foreign accent - sometimes
Cerial (sp?) has acquired an Irish accent (I mean, seriously??) and sounds sinister. He sounds like you can’t trust him.
Sometimes characters have southern accents. Sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes they sound foreign, sometimes they don’t.
Kalin suddenly has an English accent?? I guess he obtained it while living with a group of Americans in the Shoshone mountains.

I wish the author would write a book about Raven. We have been left up in the air about that one AND the wolf that crawled up to the compound at the end of this book. But are we never going to see Raven find his mate and transform back to a human? And now we have been led to believe JC’s sister has found her mate with the vampire prince. Are we not going to hear that story either?

Bring back Kirsten Potter!!!

They need to bring back the narrator that did the first 5 books Kirsten Potter!!
For some reason Marguerite Gavin changed the voices from the last book she did. All of a sudden Cerial has an Irish accent and Kalen is British. No consistency. And her voice is just not good.

Without forgot her own characters

The author in some points of the story completely forgot details of her own characters.
Kaylin was not half fay. He was gas celie and uncelie.

The narrator even forgot who the characters were.
She gave Serial a Irish accent and Kaylin a British accent.
In Kaylins story he was from a small town they made fun of for being Mayberry.
The authors voice was great but who ever thought to give a middle America goth kid a British accent was really lame.

Make the Addiction Stop!

The storylines are really engaging and filled with action. The intimate scenes are a little repetitive, especially if your binging, but I find myself wondering what’s going to happen next!
