Publisher's Summary

Emily was born into a world of hate, drugs, abuse, and human trafficking. She’s always worked hard to stay on the honor roll in school and to get a free ride to college. She wants nothing more than to make her way out of the life she was born into. Emily has dark secrets that she believes only her best friend Ginger Gold knows about. She’s also been crushing on the one man no one can touch: Blake Shaw, the biggest playboy in Davenport, Georgia.

Blake was born with the world at his feet. He’s never had to work for anything in his life. Women - they lined up to please him. Job - it was handed to him once he finished school. The one thing he wants the most is going to be a challenge, to say the least. Blake has watched Emily for years and he is determined to make her his for the rest of this lifetime and the next lifetime.

When Emily and Blake cross paths, the chemistry and passion is undeniable. Waiting to find your soul mate is a test in patience and these two are just about out of patience.

Can they find happiness and peace together, or will their past mistakes destroy their new-found love?

A Moving and Fast Paced Book of Love and Loss

This book sits squarely in the adult genre with very dark themes and an adult sexual relationship explicitly described. It is not for the faint-hearted but is moving and unique.

This relationship commences with a relentless obsessional pursuit by Blake of the MC, Emily. Despite that, Blake brings a plethora of good things to Emily's life which leads her to overlook and accommodate his dark past and in return, to offer him faithfulness and unwavering love. The kind of commitment that strengthens over serious life trials.

I found the narration to be very strong and to manage the variety of male and female voices as best as they can be without employing a male actor to tag team with. I will look forward to future books narrated by Leigh.

fairytale blown apart

Emily's mom was a nightmare and an evil leech. Blake and Em faced many set backs in their relationship but their love was strong enough to see them through it and keep them together. I was in awe about how much Blake loved Em and did for her. Em was a strong person, but I'm sure by the end of the story she felt as gutted and desolate as I am right now crying my eyes out!! No one said life was fair!!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator didn't fit the story or do male voices very well. I think a male narrator would have been a better choice.

Wow!!! Heart warming and wrenching all at the same time

I absolutely loved the characters Emily, Blake, and her best friend! I became invested in the not so perfect love story! The author pulled at my heart strings through this whole book.
Narration wasn’t my favorite at the beginning but completely grew on me throughout the book.

Intense!!

I read the this book and it was an intense and ugly cry book, at the same time it was also a great romance. Blake and Emily' s journey is shared with us through Ms. Meachen, Emily's journey was hard and painful. It was so hard to read that she suffered through child slavery at such a young age. Little did she know that she was being watched and protected by Blake! Her knight in shining armor. He would do anything for Em. Saving Emily from the life she was thrown in. Blake has his demons that he has no control of. Will Emily finally be happy? Will Blake be able to control his demons now that he found Emily? Ms Meachen shows us that no matter what life throws at us there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. This book is an emotional rollercoaster, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Take a chance, follow An on her journey.

Ms Leigh DeSalles brings this book to life. Her voice is amazing reading both the female and male lines. I can't wait to listen to the 2nd book Letting Go. Part 2 to Chance Encounter.

removing 1 star for the ending

nice story, nice characters, easy to read, but i feel some things have not been explained properly.. starting from the mother situation, to miguel.. i enjoyed it, and if you are thinking to read the book, just dont listen to the last 10 minutes as the author for some absurd reason decided to ruin it all. the narrator has a mature voice and giggles a lot, but overall she has good acting skills.

I just needed more

The storyline itself had so much potential. I just feel like this one fell flat for me.

Where the author could have explored more she didn't and it just seems like that part of the story could have brought more emotion and angst into it. There were times I felt like Emily was trying to be a bada$$ but it just didn't fit her regular personality. Like she would get all uppity about things when she didn't need to.

It's not a horrible read, it just was missing more.

The narrator did a great job.

I was given an audio ARC and decided to leave an honest review.

Holy Hotness

PSA be cautious if you are listening to this out loud in the house. Not appropriate for younger ears! Wow was this a hot story. Emily & Blake are true soul mates and besides the chemistry, their true love for each other shines through.

Good read

I was given the audio version of the book in return for an honest review and here it is! This book was about two people from very different worlds who are soul mates. It tells of the twists and turns in their relationship and the challenges that they must try to overcome. It is an emotional, sexy read. There are quite a few sex scenes in the story. I liked the characters, though at times I felt it was a bit unrealistic. However, stories would be boring to me if they were too true to life. The narrator did a good job.
