Publisher's Summary

Three gripping crime fiction thrillers featuring DCI Whitney Walker and forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish.

Deadly Games

A killer's playing cat and mouse - and winning.

DCI Whitney Walker’s in trouble. She’s threatened with demotion if she screws up another case. So, when a killer starts murdering female students, it’s a chance to redeem herself. Forensic psychologist, Dr Georgina Cavendish, has spent her life inside the university walls, but when one of her students is murdered, she steps out from behind the textbooks and puts her skills to the test. The two headstrong women join forces to stop the killer. But sparks fly when real world policing meets academic theory, and it’s not a pretty sight.

Fatal Justice

A vigilante is on the loose, dishing out their kind of justice.

A string of mutilated bodies sees DCI Whitney Walker back in action. But when she discovers the victims have all been grooming young girls, she fears a vigilante is on the loose. And while she understands the motive, no one is above the law. Once again, she turns to forensic psychologist, Dr. Georgina Cavendish, to unravel the cryptic clues. But will they be able to save the next victim from a gruesome death?

Death Track

Catch the train if you dare…

After a teenage boy is found dead on a Lenchester train, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker believes they’re being targeted by the notorious Carriage Killer, who chooses a local rail network, commits four murders, and moves on. Against her wishes, Walker’s boss brings in officers from another force to help the investigation and prevent more deaths, but she’s forced to defend her team against this outside interference. Dr. Georgina Cavendish is by her side in an attempt to bring to an end this killing spree. But how can they get into the mind of a killer who has already killed twelve times in two years without leaving behind a single clue?

Critic Reviews

"Narrator Clare Corbett flawlessly creates the accents and setting of Lenchester, England, while introducing Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker and her polar opposite, psychologist Georgina Cavendish.... Corbett's best creation is pathologist Clare Dexter whose eccentricities add a bit of levity. The well-rendered step-by-step procedural, with its gripping conclusion, makes for an exceptional listen." (AudioFile Magazine, review of Cavendish & Walker)

A new favorite

I love the relationship between the two main characters. This is my new favorite team. I am really glad that I was able to get the first 3 books in a volume. Great ,cases to solve, great supporting team.
It was very realistic how the relationship and friendship has grown between two smart and strong female leads. I am off to get the next one in the series. It totally worth a credit.

Very good intro to a series

Very good series and this is the first three books. Once I finished this, I read all the other novels... Pretty much the best recommendation I can give! Great female protagonists and enjoyable story lines.

easy fun listen

Enjoyed this. Easy to listen and the narration was excellent. Not an epic tale by any means. A fun whodunit with likeable characters. Listened while doing yard work and house chores. For me, it was a good credit buy.

Really, really good...

I'm so glad I discovered this series. I love a good UK police drama and this delivers. The dynamic between Walker and Cavendish is fun and the stories are gripping. Walker is wound a little tight, but I can get past it because Cavendish isn't...highly recommend and narration is perfect.

Superb narration, flawed writing

Some of the writing is pretty cringeworthy...lots of unnecessary exposition, cliches, weird similes. But the characters are interesting, and the narration makes this worthwhile all by itself. Will be looking for more from this narrator.

Sisterhood

What stands out for me is the theme of sisterhood. I like that the women have different personalities but they support each other because they have a shared experience of having to work twice as hard as men to get half as far professionally.

Awful book

I thought getting 3 books in one would be great value for money. but books like this wouldn't be worth getting if they came free. Horrible, unlikeable characters, unrealistic speech , zero knowledge of police procedures and plots so thin you could see right through them. Granted the narrator had little to work with but she still managed to drag it down another notch with her grating voice and wandering accents. I've got over 500 books on audible and this is easily the worst.

Predictable

I have just finished the first 6 hour story if this trilogy. To be honest I struggled with the narrator, who seems a bit, how should I say, plummey. And I sometimes had difficulty telling the characters apart, as the same characters voice changed slightly as the book goes on.
The story is not bad but predictable, I guessed whio did the deeds long before the end, and some of the plot moves. So it is a case of never mind the quality feel the width. Three books for the price of one. I can see why now...

Only complaint

I do enjoy this series but i think the main character could have a better name. Apologies to any ‘Whitney’s’ reading this, it just doesn’t sound right, nor does Tiffany.

sloppy and predictable

Easily one of the worst crime novels I have ever read/listened to. A profiler whose profiles do not help in the slightest. A DCI who is in danger of being fired and rightfully so: sloppy, predictable, whiny, she is a far cry from the strong woman she is meant to portray. Constantly trusting her gut and taking pride in it, she blunders from impulsive arrest to emotionally driven dumb dumb decisions while the solution is literally staring anyone in the face. Sloppy policework, sloppy writing, sloppy characters, unlikely and still predictable plot

Easy listening

This was well-narrated and easy listening but for me there's not enough depth to the storylines and the plots are too simple. The author clearly wants to write strong women but at the expense of the male characters who are caricatures. Maybe just not my taste but I prefer a bit more to my crime novels.

Great having three books in one

I’ve enjoyed this series. It’s not brilliantly written Or narrated but it’s still good. Think I will try the next ones and see what happens to the group.

I did enjoy the stories. And want to follow their relationship/friendship.
. So much he said. George said, Tiffany said.
I really drove me nuts.

eh

Two-dimensional characters, even 3 books in there's still no actual development or growth or.. personality?! I feel there were meant to be twists but.. there weren't? they were transparent. overall, just.. meh.
