The Corgis Save the Day Again!

Zack Anderson and his investigator Welsh corgis get involved in a case of serial dognapping in Jeffery Poole's fourth Corgi Case Files book, The Case of the Pilfered Pooches. When a chocolate lab who strays into a grove of trees while chasing a ball doesn't return to his elderly owner, the Pomme Valley police department enlists Zack and his corgis Sherlock and Watson to help find Chip. Then Zack's detective friend Vance has his German shepherd, Anubis, stolen. When the beagle service dog of the autistic granddaughter of the police chief also gets taken, the chief hires Zack, along with his two detective dogs, to recover all the missing dogs. The trio, along with Vance, sets out to find this serial dognapper and get back everyone's pet dogs.

As with the other books in this series, I really had a lot of fun listening to The Case of the Pilfered Pooches. It contains plenty of humor and human (and dog) interest. The voice of Zack is a delight, with plenty of wit. It is also enjoyable to hear the scenes related to the winery that Zack has inherited, especially since he hates wine and insists on having soda nearby to get rid of the taste of the nasty wine. His straight-laced wine manager, Kaden, makes a perfect straight man for Zack's clowning.

The audiobook of The Case of the Pilfered Pooches is performed by Bob Johnson, who makes a great voice for Zack, the first person narrator of the book. Using strong expression and timing, Johnson makes the wit of Zack seem all the more delightful. Listeners connect strongly to the book through this strong performance.

I greatly enjoyed The Case of the Pilfered Pooches and recommend it to everyone. Though I always recommend starting with the first book of any series, listeners can easily follow the book, which provides back explanations of references from the previous books, though sometimes those explanations feel excessive and get annoying to those of us who have listened to the previous books. However, this didn't get in the way of my appreciation for this audiobook. I give it five stars.

Move Over Scooby-Doo!

I'm loving these mysteries! They're light-hearted, comedic, and a lot of fun! This is the fourth book in the series, and it hasn't slowed my interest at all! I'm loving the voice of the main character, and the dogs involved. I've never been around corgis much, but this series definitely makes them look like fun dogs! This time, the girlfriend is out of town, so the main character can get into lots of trouble! It's a good thing the corgis will keep him out of trouble! Nothing could go wrong, right? Well, except a case of missing pooches! If you like dogs, mysteries, and wine, you definitely need to check this series out!

The narrator does a fantastic job with the audio book!

Great Series

Zack, Sherlock and Watson have done it again. For this capper someone was taking dogs in a park. Playing ball with your pooch well think again. But with these three on the case it soon gets sorted out and safe to play ball again.
I am really enjoying this series. It is a cute cozy mystery and a well written one as well. Bob Johnson is the narrator for this series and he is wonderful. I have only listened to this series but I feel that Bob Johnson adds a layer of extreme interest in the story for me. Bob's voice is easy to listen to and not distracting from the story. I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review. Well honestly give it a listen you will not be disappointed.

Sherlock and Watson at it again!

The Case of the Pilfered Pooches by Jeffrey Poole is such a fun listen. I love the characters of Sherlock and Watson even though they are Corgi's. The author really does a great job of writing a cozy mystery with endearing characters. Bob Johnson is fantastic bringing the characters to life with his voice. He adds the right emotions and adds to my enjoyment. The imagery in the story is so well done that I can visualize so many details. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review, I will most definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Wine and Dogs!

Okay, boys and girls, cliffhanger alert. However, only with regard to the greater story arc of the entire series, and *not* for the instant novel. This screwball, madcap, cozy farce ends quite satisfactorily with a few bonuses. And, as always, Bob Johnson's adept narration adds to the glee. You might have guessed that I've been following this entire series (as it comes out in audio) and hope to continue doing so. After all, wine and dogs!

Case of the Pilfered Pooches

Our favorite corgis, Sherlock and Watson, are back at it, and this time their case involves furry four-legged friends. Zack and the dogs are brought on, in a more official capacity, to help find out what is happening to the local dogs.

Jeffrey Poole not only set up a great mystery, but he tickled my funny bone as well. Keep ‘em coming!

I loved Bob Johnson’s narration. His delivery was fantastic... a truly enjoyable performance.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Sherlock and Watson Do it Again

When a friend's German Shepard disappears during a walk in the bark, Sherlock, Watson and their hapless romance writing owner swing into action to help solve the case in this adorable cozy mystery.
As the case unfolds it becomes clear that there are several missing dogs involved and the trio plus the shepard's owner who happens to also be a police officer begin to piece together the clues that lead to a very unlikely group of dognappers.
I loved this funny take on a very serious subject. The Corgies are, as always, the heroes of the story and the author's portrayal of the pair, and dogs in general, shows a genuine love of the world's canine contingent.
Funny and heart warming- this is a book I would gladly read again.

Fun times again

They are at it again and just as adorable as before and they are a treat. Zach Anderson is not half bad either and you enjoy the tale and the antics of everybody involved. So when you get a chance pick up a copy and enjoy the story and the narration, which will have you laughing at some point.

"I was provided this audio book at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.
