Publisher's summary

Kenn wants Warrick to be his teacher, his boyfriend...and his Daddy.

Being the president’s son was never something Kenn wanted, but it’s the reality nonetheless. Home from college with nothing to do, he’s elated when his father hires a tutor to prepare him for law school.

Professor Warrick Duvall is kind, smart, and he has time for Kenn when no one else does. When the unthinkable happens and Kenn’s world is rocked to its core, it’s Warrick who is there for him, and the friendship with him is the only thing that keeps Kenn going. Warrick takes care of him, helps Kenn find his footing again, and they grow even closer.

When others start to notice and warn him, it’s time for Kenn to be honest about who he is and what he wants. But how will his father react when he learns Kenn doesn’t want Warrick to be merely his teacher and his boyfriend...but his Daddy?

Care is a slow burn MM gay romance with an age gap and daddy kink (no age play), featuring a Daddy, who doesn’t know he’s a Daddy, and a needy boy who soaks up all Daddy’s care. It’s the fifth book in the White House Men Series, a continuing MM romantic suspense series set in the White House that needs to be listened to in order. Care ends with a happily ever after, but the suspense plot ends on a cliffhanger and will be continued in the rest of the series.

📖 Story comment: Good pace, diverse characters, and an interesting story.

The progression of the relationship felt natural, with Warwick identifying what Kenn needed after tragedy struck and Kenn's world is turned upside down, and without "labelling" it was well written.

I generally enjoy an age play story, but I had trouble reconciling Kenn's character - he had been a young man (22 years old), doing an undergraduate degree at college with a goal of studying law the three years prior to his father becoming President, now, (most of the time) he's presenting like an insecure, shy, little boy.... turn's out, I'm not in the right head space for Kenn's constant insecurities, he was just coming across "too young". I'm also not sure how I feel about the use of pet names - Warwick constantly calling Kenn "baby boy" felt overused and like he was stripping Kenn of his identity.

This was Kenn's story and didn't feel like there was much in the way of progression in the overarching storyline in this one.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoy John Solo's narration, each character had their own voice and it was easy to tell them apart, he has good timing, inflections and intonations, and there is good consistency with characters from the earlier books - but Kenn's character came across way too young for me.

Terrific Listen🎧📚🎧 Gripping & Thought-Provoking!

Nora Phoenix continues to wow me with her amazing “White House Men” series. I am loving the characters and storylines. This fifth book is Kennedy “Kenn” Shafer and Warrick Duvall’s story. Kenn is the president’s son and Warrick is the professor his father brought in to help Kenn continue his college education while in living in the White House. With everything going on, it was safer for him to learn from home. I highly recommend starting this series from the beginning. There are ongoing storylines/subplots that are not only great to follow but continue to progress as the series goes on. They are getting closer to the root of the investigation and can not wait to find out who is behind it all and why. OK, I got sidetracked with my excitement back to Kenn and Warrick. Both have appeared in the earlier books and some of those timelines overlap in this book but in their POV. We get to see Kenn come into his own in this book and with Warrick by his side, he is turning into an amazing young man. After losing his Mom he realized how much he depended on her nurturing and direction in his daily routines. Warrick sensed he needed someone to push him and set him straight and he does just that. The relationship is natural and unknowingly just what both need, a daddy/boy relationship. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a cleverly and beautifully plotted story with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, heartfelt and emotional moments and a slow burn romance.I am also loving ongoing investigation, the mystery, twists and turns and the thrilling suspense. It is a thought-provoking process and is keeping me on my toes, waiting for another shoe to drop and wondering what is going to happen next. Nora Phoenix, thank you for this fabulously entertaining series and wonderful writing style.

🎧📚🎧 John Solo is a wonderfully talented narrator and voice artist. His brilliance continues to shine as he brings these characters to life. He does so with a complete understanding of each character he portrays, giving each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in the roles he played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into his performance. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Family Input

I felt like you could really feel the love and care between Warwick and Ken. I also love how loving and accepting everyone else was of their relationship. The back story of the assignation is also really getting interesting.

Book 5

I was a bit disappointed 😞 the other books were so good and this one was just lacking. Kenn was just a meh character. I hate how everyone talked about him and for him, for a 22 yrs old guy it's just bad. The continuation of the story line and previous MCs made it way better than the actual MCs for this book.

I loved it but...

This was a good book, the drama and relationships between all our favorite characters. HOWEVER, I am not a fan of daddy/boy kink. There was an excessive overuse of "daddy" and "baby boy" I feel like it would literally killed all my brain cells.

Most of the times I had to skip scenes between Kenn and Warrick cause it was too much. I feel like they was used it least 4 times in every sentence. Absolute madness!!!
