Publisher's Summary

In this gritty pause-resister from an Urban Books novelist, a high-maintenance wannabe sets out on a deadly mission to snag a millionaire - and all the material possessions he represents.

Have you ever craved someone so bad that you’d be willing to do anything? Meet Dominique Lewis, a foul, hardboiled go-getter who spends most of her days yearning to be just like her sister and plotting to take her man. For her, it’s all about money, sex, and power. Although she possesses the perfect physique and sexy features, her lifelong dream is to become a household name. She vows to get what she wants by any means necessary.

As Dominique’s mission unfolds, she gets involved with Yuri, a violent replacement for the man she really sought. When she realizes she’s partnered with a beast, her world turns upside down. After the tragic murder of her sister, all hell breaks loose, and Dominique’s cover is blown.

Bent on revenge, she soon appoints herself as Raphael’s woman. He’s the most sought-after millionaire in Atlanta. Raphael’s lavish status in town would put her on a new level, right where she always dreamed. The only problem is that he never said he wanted her. In an effort to hold on to Raphael and all the elaborate material possessions, Dominique sets out on a deadly mission to remove anything that stands in her way.

Probably was an ok book. Ended due to narrated.

Her voice sounds like it should be in a comedy. Horrible accents. The book literally said the guy barely had a Trinidadian accent and she started talking in a full Jamaican accent. I didn’t make it past chapter 7.

THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!

The storyline was riveting with unpredictable twists and turns. The narration was OUTSTANDING! The narrator of this story brought so much life I had outbursts of laughter along with finding myself talking out loud like I was watching a real movie. I had so many 'girl bye' and 'HELL NAWWWW" moments it was great!

The narration and depiction of each character by the narrator gave me a vivid mental photo of who they were. OMG this was great!!! I loved it. I had so many moments of laughing at how the main character spoke it was THE BEST. So much so I thought I knew her.

GOOD JOB in every aspect of this story EXCELLENT!!!!

Just ok!!!!

The ending could have been better and it seem to be going in circles. I would have like to see Dominique held accountable for everything she did.

Long and drawn out

The performance by Ms Lachapelle was awesome (as usual) but the story itself was overly long and drawn out. This is the 2nd time I’ve attempted to “read” this book and I forced myself to finish it this time. The other books by Ms Azarel are amazing. This one….. I was like after the Monique died like 20 hours ago what was the point of the rest? It should’ve been wrapped up within the next 2 hours. But it dragged on for what felt like 50 years. It never explained who the brothers father was and how Raphael was able to just skate into the sunset after he fk’d everyone’s life up is beyond me. Maybe there’s a part 2. Not sure if I would read it but there’s a lot of ?????????

Great, Off Rip!!!

From the first chapter I was All in to see what was going to happen. It was as if this was a continuous story line from something Ive read before. Love it.

Performance issues!

This is probably a great book, and I would have loved to finish it, but I could not listen to that narrator one minute longer. She does the author a disservice.
