I guess you could call my latest job interview a success. I got hired, and it's way beyond my wildest dreams.

The pay isn't great. And the hours are pretty much 24/7.

But there's magic. And a portal to a fantasy world.

Those kind of outweigh the negatives.

At first, I thought I was just testing the latest VR survival RPG, but I'm starting to think this might not be a game after all. The monsters are definitely life-like and capable of carving me apart on their worst days. But on their best days, I make them mine.

Yeah, I have the Tamer Class.

There's strength in numbers in survival scenarios like this, a fact that becomes only too clear when I'm joined by a redhead who's apparently a Warlock.

I figure it won't be long until our party's number increases in this strange new world.

I mean, if I buy this type of book I usually know there is a chance of "issues"

I won't lie and say writing isn't hard but it im forcing myself to finish this story. Did the woman have a parameter changed so they lack self direction and efficiency? why throw in the subtle racial stuff, Im the doctor and you have all been bread to be the best of the best. book 2 "I was about to be a statistic because I walked into a bad neighborhood." Feels like they had someone or something run back and scrub of the diatribes to make racial discrimination more benign. Look, I used a thesaurus. time to go back to my OSL/SL Skyrim waifu mods.

as a whole the story is pretty solid. There definitely could have been more characters brought in. there was one character that I had trouble getting on board with. That is the female Marine. there is so many things that the author got wrong about how Marines act their sense of humor even down to the types of jobs in the Marine Corps. there are no medics in the Marine Corps. I do believe any future books that this author makes with military members in it he should definitely speak with someone who was in that branch of military.

The story had a great start

The story had a great start but it became very hard to listen towards the beginning of the third book it was to the point where I had to step away and come back several times just to get through the book it's a good thing I have a lot of drive time in my day. it was almost a did not finish

Good narration and voice acting

I enjoyed the overall premise but the story was somewhat lacking in depth and character interaction beyond the core group.

Not the best

The hardest part to get through was the constant "discussions" between the characters. No disagreements (Even minor) It's all just "Hmmm yes. I believe "we" have stumbled upon a fundamental truth of reality. Aren't "we" deep?"

A whole lot of Nothing happens. The "relationships" between the women and the "Grown" man are shallow at best.

Crap ending

The lack of an ending sucked, but otherwise it was an amazing story. I hope a book 4 through whatever out there.

great listen. you really feel like you have taken a trip to another world, experiencing the life of every DnD nerds fantasy

fantastic read definitely need more books. I would like a little more heart felt romance moments but aside from that this was unique and fun.

Great story!

I have really enjoyed this series, and I do hope that there is more to come! Great performances as well and will be looking forward to more by then.

just lame

While not the worst book of this type I have read recently. I have to agree with several of the other reviews.

The dialogs are tedious and not very realistic. Moreover the Psychology just doesn't work.. There is no way these two ( at least as far as I could tolerate ) hot girls would chase after this guy. The first girl, the red head basically had to throw herself at him repeatedly before he made any kind of move. No way these girls would have any respect for this guy.

It seems the author has a very adolescent view of human sexuality.

The world itself is interesting. but the video game elements are annoying. in short I was only able to force myself to listen though about half of the first book. Simply put there isn't enough steamy content to overcome all the drawbacks. As a lister I found myself losing respect for the MC to the point I just had no interst in listening anymore.
