Story
Raised by a widowed mother, Jill Reed has come a long way from her difficult youth. But while she may not have had money, Jill never doubted she was rich in love. Her mother, Connie, made Jill the center of her world. Now, even though she has a young family of her own, it’s Jill’s turn to care for her ailing mother. When early dementia begins to set in, Connie starts talking about Jill’s “other life.” Jill assumes it’s just rambling confusion. Still, Connie’s stories about Jill’s childhood, and her father’s early death, never quite added up.

Good but a few issues
I really enjoyed the storyline and the building up to highlights (Alana (sp?) and the reasons she seeked to destroy Vanessa, etc.) The only issues that I had with this audiobook is the narration. The narrator seemed to breathe at the wrong times and break up sentences awkwardly. She also seemed to not really grasp the actual essesnce of a particular phrase or statement. I don't know if anyone was directing this at the time it was read, but it seems it could have used a director. Other than the narration, I truly enjoyed this book.

A refreshing read
This was my kinda book. Not too churchy (if you know what I mean) with a hint of humor, interesting characters and plot twists. Plus it didn't have all the vulgar language that seems to ruin good books. I live in Houston so it was nice hearing familiar street names and landmarks. I felt right at home -- almost as if I could run into any one of the sisters around town. As a fellow Univ. of Texas alumnae, ReShonda makes us proud!

Can I Get a Witness?
By Arlena (Broken Arrow, OK, United States)
I found Can I Get a Witness? a very interesting audible to listen too. I believe Ms. Billingsley did a wonderful job in bringing out how many of us need a higher power in our daily life. For sure this was
true for Vanessa and Thomsas. The sisters and aunt were interesting people in this story too. This audible was a bit long but good and it kept me interested until the end. I was glad the way the story ended. Truly forgiveness was very important.
